A.C. Properties in Partnering Frenzy with Online Casinos: Card Player magazine has produced a useful summary of the current lay of the land in New Jersey, where it seems as if a new affiliation is announced every day between a bricks-and-mortar casino and an online equivalent, in the race to get a foot in the door ahead of the legalization of Internet gambling in the state. The latest partnership to be named is between Atlantic City’s Tropicana Casino and UK-based Gamesys, which offers online gambling in the European market via Jackpotjoy.com. Online companies must have a land-based casino interest in the state, where the potential value of the iGaming market has been pegged at as much as $500 million to $1 billion per annum.

Partnerships announced to date:

•Caesars Entertainment Corp. — 888 Holdings

•Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa — Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment

•Resorts Casino Hotel — PokerStars

•Golden Nugget Atlantic City — Bally Technologies

•Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort — Ultimate Gaming

•Tropicana Casino and Resort — Gamesys

London-based 2UP Gaming has also announced that it has received a $330 million commitment from an Asian investment group in order to acquire or build a hotel-casino property in Atlantic City; of the city’s dozen bricks-and-mortar gaming establishments, only Revel and the Atlanic Club currently remain partnerless in the iGaming dance. The latter was formerly involved in talks with PokerStars, but terminated the relationship.
