Revel is under new management now that they have gone thru bankruptcy and reorganized. They have a new CEO and are making many changes to try to bring business into what was a failing casino. Previously a smoke free environment, the new management realizes gamblers will not play in a casino that bans smoking. Just ask Dom how he felt about a smoke free casino. They are now allowing smoking in designated areas at Revel. They added the word casino to their name because they are going to get away from the original idea that they are a resort hotel. Now they want to be known as a casino with a resort hotel. They are offering player cards to folks consistent with cards they have at other casinos. Bring in a high level card and Revel will give you one of theirs along with the benefits.

They came up with a new promotion that is described in the article above. Revel is bombarding the air waves of radio and TV with advertisements of this promotion. I have seen or heard the ad multiple dozens of times over the past few months. It must be working because their revenues have increased for the first time ever and slot play has increased significantly for them.

But if you only listen or see their advertisement on TV you would never know the details behind it. Their ads make it sound like they give you a full refund of your money without any qualifications. I realized there had to be some catch because it did not seem possible for them to give back what they were claiming in the advertisement. I did not look into it because I was not interested in playing slots. Now that I know the details from this article I was annoyed because it is so completely different from what they are leading one to believe. Then I read some of the comments following the article above. Most folks were more upset with the Contis for being naive than with Revel. They did not think Revel was out of line with their promotion.

So I wonder what others on this board think about this? This promotion seems to have brought new business to them for the month of July. But will it make those folks loyal customers for the future or will it anger them and turn business away? Is this a good way for the "new management" at Revel to promote their casino to develop future customers?
