I am going to Vegas for a week soon. This question popped in my head and I can’t get this simple question out of my mind. I have played almost always at $5 and $10 tables. When I mean always it’s 99% of the time. I need to know the benefits of going to the $25 table over the $10. EX: Higher probability of experiencing other controlled shooters, better crew, etc.. I know about the NAAR and 401G etc.. and am a graduate of the class. My question is over and above what all the great GTC books say. I am just curious to hear what the long time experienced throwers have to say. In your experience do you prefer a $25 table above all others and why? Thank you! 😀

You should not play there if you do not feel comfortable playing at that level. As I said, if you would be playing at a higher level on a lower limit table, you should play at the higher limit table.

I remember the first time I played a $25.00 table, I told the group I was playing with that I did not have the bankroll to support it and I would not play at it. This group gave me all the reasons Skinny stated and they said I was more than good enough, I just needed confidence. I kept saying I could not afford it, this was early in my dice control career.
I ended up playing that day at the $25. table because the guy’s I was playing with just wanted me to throw the dice and bet the pass line only with odds. We would split all profits and they would work all the other bets: place, come, buy and 6/8 progression. By the way they also also gave me $1000.00 to play with and I did not have to repay any thing I lost and anything I won would be added to our total winnings and split 4 way’s.
The bottom line was at the end of the first 3 hours session we split a lot of money, my share was over $2500.
Here is my point, I did not have to worry about loosing so I played free and easy and if you can’t play that way you should not be playing at a high limit table.
