Daytrip report

Spread the love

JBW and I drove up to CCBH for the afternoon. Thought we would try a new spot. The table was empty and we bought in and I threw first.
I want to thank Dom and Billy the Kid for adding the betting seminar to the class. Their information was exactly what I needed. Got rid of old habits and reenforced come betting. It worked perfectly as I threw 35 times.
On roll 4 I made my first point and we tossed 2 white chips to the dealer and he placed them an the 6 and 8.
Says the house pays us 2 to 1 for dealer place bets. SInce I over tip, learned this in the Tunica class. I said great. I hit a few numbers and then made another point and tossed in two more chips. He spread out to the 5 and 9 and said thank you, as I pressed up my come and odds he pressed up his 6 and 8. He was playing the game right along with us. I was hammering the 8 and he had a dime on it. After roll 20 we went to come bets on every roll, and JBW tossed down a stack of whites for his next come bet and I roll an eleven as the dealer was paying us a green chip was on the bottom of the stack. JBW freaks out but the dealer pays him for the green. We couldn’t get more than four numbers as I never threw any 4 or tens.

It was a 3 dollar table and ten times odds, our biggest problem was keeping our come bet big enough for the odds we wanted. We threw 2 more times and I had a point out and a 14. It is good to be home and Winning is the most fun.

GOLDFINGER Thanks again Dom and BTK

Nice going Goldfinger. Happy to see the betting is working for you. An easy way to get the odds up when you want to and don’t have the base bet high enough is to use a place bet and increase your come bet at the same time. Then take down the place when it hits and put it on your odds.

Say you have $3 on all the numbers with $30 odds on each come bet and the pass line bet. Now if you have enough profit to up your bets go to $10 come bets and do the following.

Let us say you hit the 8 next. You get a $38 off and on. Put a $30 place bet on the 8 and switch to a $10 come bet. Now you hit the 6. It pays $38 and your come bet comes down with $33. Put $60 in odds, another $10 come bet and $1 left over in your rack. Now if you hit that 8 next you will collect $38 from the come bet, the $33 come bet comes down and you collect $35 for the place bet and take down the $30 place bet, total of $136. Because you had $10 come bet you can put $100 in odds and put up another $10 come bet. You will get to put $26 in your rack and have $110 out there on the 8 as a $10 come/ $100 odds bet.

If you hit a 5 or 9 you will collect $48 and $33 comes down. You can leave $60 in odds, $10 come bet and $11 in the rack or $70 in odds, $10 come and $1 in the rack.

If you hit 4 or 10 you will collect $63 and $33 comes down. You can leave $60 in odds, $10 come bet and $26 in the rack or $70 in odds, $10 come and $16 in the rack or $80 in odds, $10 come and $6 in the rack.

On the next hit on any number that is not at max odds you will get an off and on because you will already have a $10 come bet on the number and $10 come bet in the come area. You will collect more than enough to max out the odds and still put a nice profit in the rails. Do this with all numbers that are not at max yet.

In the meantime if you are clobbering a specific number, like you said you were with the 8, you can add a place bet on the number after you collect one or two hits at table max. You will get a double hit from the come and place bets on future hits. You do this while you are waiting to max out the other numbers and making the appropriate profit until it is time to go to the next level of new come/pass bets.

In other words by going from a $3 to $10 base bet you will have more flexibility with 10X odds than by just going from $3 to $6.

Your next move after $10 is to switch to a green chip come/pass bet. I leave it to you to figure out how to handle the odds. But the key is to use a place bet when you decide to go up on the base bet and take it down when you hit that number the next time.

The main thing is to not take any money out of your rack to put up the increased odds and increased come bet. Use the money from the win and come bet that comes down to fund the bet. That way you will be going up with new winnings, not money you have already locked up in your rack.

There are other ways to do this, but this came to my mind as a simple way to go up when you have 10X or greater odds. That really gives you a lot of flexibility on a great roll.

Thanks Skinny,

As I was throwing I was trying to count the hits so I would know when to go to place bets. We have a 100 dollar limit per bet so the proper way would have been once I got to 10 come and 100 odds, I could only place bet. I like the 3 come and 30 odds and then a place bet, and then right to 10 and a 100. It would be a litttle too aggressive for JBW but he would try to keep up with me.

He now wants to go twice a week to CCBH. This is the life, Golf and craps, Craps and golf.

Yeah, see it is OK to go to $10 as long as your taking $50 or $60 in odds without taking money from the rack to do so. At 5 or 6 times odds you are playing at a very low HA. So even though 10X is even lower you are not giving them much at 5 or 6 times odds instead of 10.

Once you have your sufficient profit, go right to $10 from $3 and you will be able to take at least $60 in odds with the money you get from the hit on the $3 come bet that comes down without taking money out of the rack to do so. You can gradually boost it up to $100 as the profits start rolling in. If $60 is too aggressive at first, doing $50 will keep you at a 0.326% HA which is a very low edge.

6X is 0.283%, 10X is a 0.184% HA. So you see you don’t give up all that much at that level with 5 times instead of 6 or 10 times in odds.

You mentioned counting the hits. Use chips in your racks to keep count of the hits. You can put them positionally from left to right for the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. Lay them flat 6 across in the bottom rack. Put a second chip on top of the first chip for successive hits on the same number. That way you can see if you are clobbering a specific number. Once you have the number of hits needed, put those chips back in your rack and then keep track of future hits on numbers that have the new increased bets on them. Hits on numbers where you are putting the money back on the table don’t count because you are not taking a full profit on them.

Great shooting you guys!

Thanks for the kind words on how Billy and I are teaching betting. We have spent a lot of time together trying to put the seminar together so that the students can see why we say to do certain things instead of telling to just do it our way. I think the longer time that we spend during the breakout session dealing with betting helps as well. Students are able to see how betting properly helps with short rolls and with long rolls.

As always, Skinny’s advice is spot on!

Goldfinger, think you can do that when Alligator Rose and I head to Colorado in July? A great report. Really enjoyed being with you in Tunica. A great 6 days. But never enough BBQ. Tell JBW we will hit the casinos hard.

You are correct that betting is the key. You have the throw and now your have the betting. Golf and Craps. It doesn’t get any better.

You are a great addition as an intern to the GTC instruction staff.

See you soon.

Doc and Alligator Rose

PS–give Mrs. Goldfinger a hug for us.

Goldfinger – congrats. I’m missing Tunica already…

Looking forward to when we can play together again, hopefully after mining in the Northern regions.
