Craps

Torn Rotator Cuff while throwing

Spread the love

So Sunday my wife and I drive up to an Indian casino in Connecticut for a great give away. She wonders off to do her shopping and i find my position at SL1. After 10 minutes, the dice come to me. Since I haven’t played since the AC class, I decide to 5 count myself. Thank god because I threw a point/seven. table is fairly empty, so dice come back to me in about 15 minutes. I am 5 counting everyone so between myself and everyone else, I am down $200. I put my $15 pass line down and establish a point of 5. Back it up with $100 because they are a 5x house and they allow you to push the house on odd amount bets. And bam right back with a perfect 3-2. This continued for maybe 15 minutes or 24 throws and put me into the win column. 15 minutes later, I get the dice again. I don’t bother 5 counting myself this time and I threw 19 numbers before the 7 and again nice profit. But this time I noticed a tingle in my right shoulder. The table is a little more crowded now and it takes about 25 minutes for me to get the dice back. Again I don’t 5 count myself and was throwing pretty nicely. Debbie walks over to me and says we should go get some lunch before we have to go over to the convention center. I told her my shoulder was really starting to hurt so after this roll was a good quitting time. I continued to get to roll 26 when I heard a pop as I released the dice and felt a sharp pain shoot down my arm. Luckily, I hit the hard 6. The next 6 rolls I had to shoot with my left hand as my right arm was in agony. I finally sevened out after 32 numbers, a great profit and a torn rotator cuff as I found out this morning with a MRI. So, my craps days are going to be limited over the next few months as I prepare for surgery, but I at least wen out on a really good note. Good luck to everyone in Tunica next week.

Michael

Mike:
That is not good, however all the doctors will tell you to operate, operate, operate. I can tell you that It happened to me, and through a great Chiropractor that is not a traditional DC fixed me up 7 years ago with just 4 treatments. This chiro has orthopedic surgeons going to see him because he is able to fix things that have traditionally been only fixed with surgery. He really is a miracle worker. You may have someone like him in your neck of the woods.

In case you cant find someone and want to talk to Dr. Morovati to see if there is anyone in your area that does a similar method of treatment, his # 818-500-8484

Except for the rotator cuff problem that really started out as a great post. You did some great rolling. Congratulations.

As to the rotator cuff if you do have the surgery, therapy is the name of the game. As one who has had both knees replaced do what the professionals say. During the therapy session you will sometimes feel like no improvement is taking place as the improvements are measured in 1/16th of an inch. In other words the gains are very gradual. Be patient. You will get over this. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ouch, same here. Do you think is was craps play that actually did it in? Funny, rolling was the first time I had pain, But got to believe that it was something more violent that tore it. I went to physical therapy route instead of surgery and I’m doing okay today. Surgery will keep you out of the game for quite a while and I’m just not ready for that yet. The funniest thing was telling the physical therapist about how I may have hurt it… I informed him that it first started hurting when I was playing craps. He had never heard of a dice related problem like this… Got some chuckles from the staff…!
Good luck with the rehab! Interesting To read that others have similar issues…

Outch! Operate, get the surgery behind you, do the physical therapy, and get back in the gsme. Your physical well being is most important. This journey will await you when you’re herby again.

Take care,

Well we have decided to go with the physical therapy route. The tear is not as bad as initially thought. I think owning a flooring store, my right shoulder has been going thru trauma all its life moving the carpets and the doctor feels that it was extremely weak and the movement of throwing the dice is what finally tore the tendon. So therapy starts on Monday and he feels that I should be good in 4 – 6 weeks. Seems like a lifetime. Mr.F, I look forward to seeing you up in CT soon.
