The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland will pay $180,000 fine imposed by the Ohio Casino Control Commission for violating security and operating rules. John Kuntz, Plain Dealer file

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland will pay $180,000 in fines for violating security and operating rules set by state law, regulators announced Wednesday.
Offenses include use of unapproved dice, mishandling keys, failing to post a problem-gambling hotline on promotional posters, encouraging cocktail servers to enter a restricted area between table games, replacing chips with quarters and improperly storing and shipping slot machines.
"The Casino Control Act exists to ensure the integrity of gaming in the State of Ohio," Jo Ann Davidson, chairwoman of the Ohio Casino Control Commission, said in a news release. "In the case of these sanctions, we as regulators found Horseshoe Casino Cleveland failed to adhere to Ohio law and their internal controls, not just once, but repeatedly. We expect strict adherence to the law from the casino properties because it’s what the people of Ohio expect."
The Horseshoe waived a hearing and reached a settlement with the commission that includes the fine and corrective measures. The commission approved the settlement Wednesday.
The commission has imposed two fines, both against the Cleveland Horseshoe, since casino gambling began in the state last May. Ohio has three other casinos, in Columbus, Cincinnati and Toledo.
The Horseshoe was fined $15,000 in January for using computer software without authorization from the state regulators. The software, which was later approved, is used by gamblers to download credits from their accounts for free play on slot machines.

gaming commission’s website and couldn’t find what is approved or not approved with dice. My guess it night have something to do with weight or size or something, but not loaded. You would have to have slight of hand artists as dealers at all tables

It is my opinion that there is no need for the casinos to do this to win, they cheated a long time ago when they set up the game as game that favors the house heavily. There is no possible way to beat craps mathematically…Einstein tried to figure out a way but failed.
I find these assumptions and postings on Facebook to be without merit nor hard evidence. Why would a casino that makes $8.59 Billion in revenues and gross incomes of $3.1B (CZR corp 2012) RISK getting caught with shaved dice? Do you really think that the short term income that they derive from this will help somehow? Would any large corporation or even a mid sized company (almost all casino companies are either medium or large corporations) risk the chance of getting caught and shut down and loosing everything for such a small, short-sided proposal?? REALLY? Enough with this nonsense, lets put this to rest.
Casinos don’t need to cheat, they just change the rules. Sure 6 to 5 BJ should be cheating, but they make the rules, and the Attorney General says its the law, its not cheating. They changed the payout on the prop sections for the 2,3,11 & 12, nobody complained about that, even if they did, who cares, they did it anyway… LEGALLY!

Every piece of betting equipment has to be "approved" by the OHIO gaming commission. This casino change dice manufacturers and didn’t get the new dice to the commission before they put them on the table … so they were fined. That is what happened
it just amazes me that people all over the internet think that they are losing because they think that the casinos cheat.
like PitBoss said, why would they jeopardize the "Goose that laid the Golden Egg" with a chance of losing their license? And please don’t say they are greedy, they are greedy, they are in business … they offer 6 to 5 single deck balckjack. Yes they are greedy and want to make more money, but all they have to do it change the edge in a game … NOT CHEAT!
please get over this!

When talking about Casino Dice, Precision manufactured, where not only is the Casinos reputation and License on the line but the Equipment Manufactures as well, a size discrepancy no matter how small is unthinkable to them. I find it hard to believe that a Licensed Casino would ever use or allow to be used mismatched Die. And 1/16 of an inch, when talking about Dice that are compared on ten’s of thousandths of an inch is likewise unbelievable.
However, I’m sure you brought it to the attention of the other players at the table. How long did it take to quell the near riot that would have most surely erupted.
