dice are dying…

Spread the love

it’s weird. it happens sporadically, but sometimes the dice just die there and they don’t hit the back wall. doesn’t happen all the time, and sometimes its just one die that dies there. with the path and arc of the dice I’m giving them, they should hit the wall, and most of the time, it does. is that too much back spin when they just land and die? I’m trying to throw the most relaxed I can, and I don’t think I"m trying to add any additional " backspin"

let me know what I can do to suggest. they are starting to fly together more, however. thanks

Could be that the table surface is wool not synthetic. Combined with new dice with sharp points the dice might grab the felt as they hit and die in place without every getting to the wall. This has happened to me on occassion. I just say " I know" and I’ll get ’em there". I make sure the next shot gets to the wall and they usually don’t say any more to me.

The layout and the dice comments by L&C are valid and will make a big difference. It may also be that you are too relaxed and just not tossing them far enough. Maybe a bit more effort on the front swing if it is happening consistently. If it happens rarely and sporadically, then its probably the new dice with sharp edges. In that case I would not change my shot at all. The last thing you want is for the dice to come to the back wall too "hot" and explode off the back wall.

lol. they are new dice indeed.

it seems a challenge from just "dying" and the dice rocketing back off the back wall. will keep at it.

You almost could relate it to a putting green in golf. If you put downhill into the grain, the ball slows down quickly. A lot of the time we can’t tell how the grains running on a table.

Great suggestions, and I will say to try a little more energy. It is a fine line, but the dice do need energy
