Gold Spike Closure Rumored: Following recent news that entrepreneur Tony Hsieh had a lending note on the downtown casino (see "Today’s News" 4/7/2013) as part of his ongoing redevelopment plans of downtown Las Vegas, we today heard from a reliable, but unofficial source, that the closure of the property could be imminent. When we tried to book a room there, we found all future dates on their online calendar blacked out as unavailable, while a call to the reservation desk informed us that they were completely "sold out" for every date we checked. Hmm…
