Some Thoughts On GTC Atlantic City 2013

Spread the love

I think everyone who attended will agree that GTC Atlantic City 2013 was another great class weekend and yet another GTC success! 😀

Pit Boss and I hooked up with Dominator and Nick At Night at the airport. Then we started things off with lunch and our first session at the tables. The great conversation at lunch was followed by some nice rolls. It was especially nice seeing my friends and catching up.

Later we met up with others, including Mr. Finesse, Goddess, Sandtrap, Raging Jack Baritone, Doc & Rose, BTK and NFF. Hope I didn’t leave anyone out. 😳 I think all were tired and turned in early for a good night’s sleep after a long travel day getting to Atlantic City.

We had an earlier than usual start for classroom set-up on Thursday because the sold-out Video Elite Analysis sessions have become so popular they overflowed to having students scheduled for both Thursday and all day Friday. The popularity of the Video Elite is largely due to the watchful eyes and critical analysis of Billy The Kid and Daryl No-Field Five. I’ve heard nothing but more rave reviews from the students who took the Video Elite Analysis, which is yet more praise for BTK and NFF’s excellent instruction.

With the addition of Ace-Ten, Randman, Glue Factory and Matt, it was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones during Friday’s Open House and at the Meet & Greet. The Q&A session during the Meet & Greet resulted in lots of interesting questions being asked and answered. I also got to meet Team "Under The Radar" mentoring group members for GTC AC 2013: Homer, Larry, Robert and Sam. All turned out to be great students.

I got to see another old friend, the Big Guy, Jumbotron Ron, who joined us for dinner one evening. Another highlight for me was finally meeting Scan, a great guy and frequent contributor to the message boards, who along with Ron stopped by to say hello to everyone during breakfast one morning. Many thanks, Scan for all of the great tips and suggestions on where to go and where to eat in the Philly/AC/NYC area.

I also got to spend some time catching up with Tony and Brian “The Situation,” both in and out of the casinos. Just great seeing these guys again.

Some Team “Under The Radar” alum showed up during the weekend – Ahmed, who along with his great pre-shot routine, set-up and throwing form made me proud! It was also nice seeing Todd and his brother who were both at the tables with us one night.

Had some good laughs with Nick At Night and Pit Boss one evening. The story is, after a great session at one of the casinos we were waiting for our car, when several intoxicated ladies (who may or may not have been “ladies of the evening”) came stumbling down to the valet area. I rescued and returned the platform shoe one of the “ladies” had dropped, letting her know that it was nothing being chivalrous because I was “Cinderfella.” Everyone, including the other guests waiting for their cars, found this quite funny. 😆 😆 But you probably had to be there to truly appreciate it. 🙂

There were several instructional changes and improvements. Added emphasis was given to smart betting, advantage play and more time at the stations and tables with the instructors during Saturday’s and Sunday’s classes. From the student’s comments and feedback the changes in the various classes were well received. I know Dominator and the instructional staff will continue to make changes and recommend improvements to insure GTC’s instruction and classes remain top-notch.

Sunday’s “no-sevens” contest was great fun and a nice way to wrap things up. Everybody was into it and whooping it up. 😀 Congratulations to Jason and Alligator Rose’s "Good Time Rollers" Team on the win! Yet another contest win for the Primer students. ❗

I have to give props to Robert from Team “Under The Radar" who had a 21 roll with 9 hardways while “warming up” for the contest. Robert’s warm-up didn’t translate to a big roll during the contest, but his shot looked great. We’ll get ‘em next time!

All in all it was another outstanding GTC class weekend which is something we are all proud of. The students were just great and the instruction was second to none. Lots of fun with great friends and great people doing something we all love. It doesn’t get any better!

But there’s more good news – Memphis/Tunica classes are just around the corner! I can’t wait!!

Memphis is a short drive just up the road from Tunica. It is a really fun city and a great place to take a class.

If you are coming, I’ll see you there!!

Timmer, great report. Loved all of it. However, remember in Memphis "The Rat Pack" will whip your group in the no sevens contest. Just kidding. I love the competitive spirit. Isn’t it great that since the no sevens contest has been in effect, only the primer students have won!! Shows what good students we have had. You are an excellent mentor and do a great job of inspiring the students.

Timmer — great post

As a Primer student, it was fantastic to take the class, learn an incredible amount of information about shooting and betting, and meet everyone too.

Everyone is SO NICE and incredibly HELPFUL, I totally enjoyed myself. VERY much appreciated !!!

Hope to see everyone again very soon.

I was just reading posts on our site and I am wondering how all the students who took our class in AC are doing. do any of you have any questions(some one must have a question or two), how is your practice going. Are you practicing your GRIP? I hope so.

Please ask us questions, we are here to help you.

This goes for those who just completed our Memphis/Tunica class a few weeks ago.

Mr. Finesse That is great . I don’t think I have seen that in the years that I have been on here. Maybe this site is getting better.
The other day Dom said more then 3 words .
O I realize that he is busy too.
Glad to see you make that offer.
Good Rolling.

I always make contact with my students after the class to ask how they are doing, and remind them what they should be working on from my notes.

If anyone has a question(s), please do post them here on the web site. That way, others can see the questions and answers that may help everyone.
