Aliante Deals: Not only has the newly independent Aliante Hotel + Casino been snapping up some cool local lounge acts (see "Today’s News" 3/18), but they abolished the former $14.99 resort fee. This covered the usual resort-fee-type amenities, including fitness-center access, but that’s free to all guests too, now, and Internet access is only $5.99/day per device, which is typically $11.99-$13.99 per night at hotels that charge à la carte for in-room amenities. Nice job!
