The Diceman Cometh . . .

Great idea. I can’t be there in body, but I can in spirit. Looking forward to posts by students and instructors.

Tell us about yesterdays play people?

Posted by: Dominator on March 22, 2013, 11:40 am

Yesterday was the set up and it went as smooth as ice. After the setup we all had Phily Cheese steak subs!

Then Billy and Daryl had two video elite students, Gameday and Butcher. We then all went to dinner and headed to the tables. No Field 5, Ragging Baritone and the Situation had some good rolls. I will let others say about my rolls if they wish.

Looking forward to a BIG day today with a full slate of Elite Videos and the Open House all day with the meet and great tonight

Guys
If you have some free time
Take my advice. If you love casino architecture as I do, check out REVEL it is a beautiful place with gorgeous ocean views. While there you can hit Tony Baloney’s for pizza it is a block away at 300 Oriental Ave. Try the slice known as "Shitfaced". Dumb name but great slice. Beer battered chicken with a BBQ sauce. Loads of other crazy slices available. Also anything with the SMOKED mozzarella is always great. Enjoy!

Hi all,

Just finished my first time with Billy and No Field Five on the Video Elite course. WOW – what a fantastic class. The one-on-one teaching for an hour and 1/2, by the two instructors who teach the advanced course was unbelievable! I strongly recommend this course for people who have been playing the GTC way for a little while, to get small things fixed that cause big problems with the dice.

Hope to see you at the tables.

Chevy.

Hi everyone from Timmer…

Long day for all of yesterday unpacking and setting up the tables, stations and organizing the classroom. Everything looks great!

BTK and NFF had to start video analysis Thursday instead of Friday because of too many students signing up for it. It seems everyone wants to fine tune their toss with the "best of the best" instructors…!

The new open house format is really great with both old and new students stopping by to say hello. Nice seeing old friends and making new ones.

Really looking forward to the Meet & Greet tonight, then kicking off the first of the 2013 classes tomorrow!

More posts to follow from everyone I’m sure…!

😎 😎 😎

Set-up yesterday was tiring, but a lot of fun seeing everyone. The Philly Cheesesteaks really hit the spot. We all went to dinner with Sandtrap and Raging Baritone and reminisced a bit. Today we are at the open house, greeting students who come to say hello and get their stuff.

Last night was fun at the table. NFF and Dr. Crapology had good rolls late at night.

Tonight is the Meet and Greet, and can’t wait to greet returning students and meet new ones. Looking forward to a busy weekend.

Hello all my GTC posters. Nick at Night here..The new format is most exciting. Just meeting the new students during the whole day and talking about the class, their CRAPS experience in a informal approach is one of the greatest "ice breakers" that Dom and the group came up with.

Dom held a super great E go to meeting some time ago with all the instructors, mentors and assistant instructor and they came up with some super ideas that are being implimented this weekend.

The setup went great and getting together with familar and new faces has been fun.

Hope to see many of you in future GTC offerings

Good fortune to all of you in and out of the Casino’s

Hey Yall

Were hanging out at the AC Sheraton just hanging out at the open house, shooting with some of the students. These guys are dedicated, getting here before we opened the doors and waiting for everyone to arrive so they can shoot.

Were going to be here looking at shots until 5:30, if you can come by and practice a bit before hitting the casinos, come on by. We would love to see you and hang out a bit. You can come by even if you’re just in town and you’re not a student.

Hi everyone:

Day two of the ever improving GTC. Yesterday we had a great day setting up, it went like clockwork and then we enjoyed White House subs for lunch, yummy.

Today we have the open house all day and people are drifting in little by little. i truly believe this is one of the best ideas we have had at GTC. People are coming in to practice and socialize. Please stop in and say hello or just stop in and shoot a little, give your self a warm up before you head to the tables here in AC.

More to follow, I have to begin a tune-up session now.

my name is rob (with the long hair) – primer student
it’s friday in ac and i played hookey from work today

didn’t quite know what to expect from this gtc class – i thought that everyone would be arrogant and pompous due their advanced abilities
boy, i am surprised!
everyone is really down to earth and so helpful – i’ve learned so much already and met someone who i can partner up with to practice between trips to ac

really impressed so far
don’t need to wait until sunday to highly recommend this course to anyone who is serious about improving his/her toss

Hello from Beautiful and very cold AC. I threw this morning and had a rough 3 throws. I am looking forward to class tomorrow to see if I can work out the kinks in my throw. There is an all-star group of instructors here and fortunately I did get to see some beautiful GTC throws. Looking forward to more.

Greetings to you all,
Just finished my E Video portion of my trip. Billy and Daryl showed a lot of patience with my throws along with trying to correct my flaws. They are real Pros and made feel comfortable.
If any one is second guessing whether to take the E Video, My take is just do it!. It,s worth the investment in my book.
Thanks GTC for having this event!

We are really meeting a lot of the students and former students during the Friday open house. We are meeting new students interested in advantage play as well as those who took the course in the past. We can’t wait for the classes to start tomorrow. If you are in the area where a class is being held this year, come by on Friday and see everyone.

OMG..Tony brought in chocolate treats, Matt brought in these pizza looking pies but they are apple and Cherry with powder sugar on top. I was in charge of cutting them up and we r all sharing in the low calorie treats.

All the students and visitors are sharing their dice experience and practicing at the tables. All of the instructors that are here are just doing an early meet and greet and watching a few dice throws.

Gotta say, this format is a homerun. (of coarse-I am biased a little, but I will tell it like it is) 🙂

Nick,
stop eating the cherry pizza pie, move onto the cookies. Jimmy Neutron just finished his tune up and I was able to hang around and do some throwing… GTC does a wonderful job and are a class act with great instructors. Just great personable people all around.

See you all at the tables

Hi all,
Just finished the tune up with Mr. Finesse and learned a great deal about my grip that I was not able to correct on my own. We also discussed the principals of come betting and dice setting. A wonderful session.

Thanks GTC

This is a great idea, I say again! Here I am at LAX with my kid, waiting on a late plane to Denver that is under some serious snow and weather right now…..and I couldn’t wait to break out the iPad and see what’s going on in AC!

Good teaching, good learning, and good throwing all!

See you in Vegas in June!

There wasn’t much time yesterday for people to post on this thread. Everyone was working very hard on their throw. I think this will be a good bunch of students!

Nick@Night here. Good morning to all. It is Sunday morning before class and we already have 10 to 12 students practicing their dice throws. It is encouraging to see that what they learned Saturday has started to show already on this morning.

Anyway, at a few Casino’s we saw some of the students at craps table play. Some nice looking throws, but….and you know who you are. 😉 try to get those betting and 5-count instructions that Dom and Billy had instruction on down. Overall, so far,so good.

And all of you that are on this site know that it takes "PRACTICE & DISCIPLINE" to be that Advantage Player.

Anyway, we have a great group of students that are working hard.

And all the funny stories in and out of the Casino’s can only be told in person. But some are halarious.

My one personnel story could be an explanation in proper betting that a short roll can make HUGE profits.

Hope to read many more experiences from others on this weekend class and other GTC"ers out there.

Good fortune to all of you in and out of the Casino"s

I didn’t get around to posting via the live feed but I figure this is the appropriate place to post about this week. My wife and I got into town on Wendsday afternoon. One of the effects of this stroke I had is that I get fatigued very quickly so when we arrived I had a scotch on the rocks and took a 3 hr nap. Thursday I took the Elite Video which was great. I found this to be one of the best instruction sessions I have taken. Thursday afternoon I had a few nice hands but no monsters.. The best one was a 18 with lots of nines. friday we went over to the open house and meet and greet. What a great format. This trip was not a money maker but I learned alot and had the opportunity to reconnect with my GTC family. It was great! Saturday Morning we headed home. We both had a great time and for those who couldn’t make it let me repeat what I said at the meet and greet. I am very grateful for all the kind words of encouragment and support as I recover from my medical issues. Your support has been very big. My doctor and therapists have been very excited about me being able to stand at the tables and play and the support I have recieved from you folks has helped a great deal. God bless you all. Till we meet again long rolls and happy days to all of my GTC friends.

I was looking for you Butcher. Somehow we usually wind up on the same floor. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Posted by: Skinny on March 25, 2013, 6:22 pm

Bill,

It is not just your doctors and therapists who are excited about your being able to stand and play at the tables. I remember the last time I was at the table with you. I was very excited to be in on the terrific rolls you had that session. Keep up the good work both physically and throwing. I am sure the Video Elite will be beneficial for the shooting part.

Posted by: Guest on March 25, 2013, 6:51 pm

Sorry i missed you Ron.

Skinny . The video class was great. Gave me plenty to work on. I wish I could have taken the Advanced class. I just don’t have the endurance for a 2 day class. Maybe this fall.

Posted by: FitzF on March 25, 2013, 7:27 pm

"Fitz" here, just wanted to say what a GREAT weekend that was. I was only able to get there on Sat because of work but it was still worth the trip. For over 5 years I have read the books and seen the video’s, 4 years ago I got a practice and practice doing things, but like in golf you can watch the pro’s do it all day long but unless they point out what your doing wrong your best game will never be that good. Biggest lesson I learned Sat night was never play next to a Hot Drunk Girl if your single because before you know it your out. I can’t wait for the next time I have off and will be able to go to a refresher class. But until then some of the new friends I made have a trip coming soon to my neck of the woods and we’re going to get together. And I have Dom and everyone else at GTC to thank for it all.

So thanks again for all that you have done.

I just returned to Connecticut from the AC Seminar. We had a great group of student as we always do, but this time was a little special. The partners decided to make a few changes to the class format and I think they were huge success.

The addition of a more detailed and comprehensive betting lecture will make a difference to all levels of student, Primer, Refresher or Advanced.

I did not have any time to post here during the class as I was always on the run bur this will be the first of many about the class.

Tune-ups on Friday: I had four previous students for tune-ups on Friday all from different levels. previous advanced students and previous refresher students. The most common thing that I always observe in a tune up is grip problem, most previous students forget to practice the GRIP and this is where it all begins. Secondly every one always needs a little tweek or two with their toss, not anything major just something simple. Once I do this we then see the dice doing just what we want them to do. The 1 1/2 hours we spend doing a tune up has always been beneficial to everyone.

More to follow tomorrow or later this evening.
