The BrothelFinTim practice routine

Spread the love

Alligotor Rose and Doc have seen posts on how to practice by Brothelman, Mr. Finesse and Timmer. We have combined them into one practice routine.

Brothelman talks about throwing several pairs of dice and watching their reaction. Don’t worry about results look at how the dice rotate in the air and react to hitting the bottom of the table and back wall. Do they stay together and stop close together? At the end on a routine the dice should be in a small circle close to the back wall. If not you need to correct something.

Fincesse talks about working on your grip–bad grip causes 80% of most problems. He has a bowl of some 200 dice that he throws to watch the reactionon of the 100 tosses.

Timmer talks about "winning money without setting the dice." Even use pipless dice–dice without spots–while throwing has been suggested.

Rose and I have taken and combined these three items into one practice routine. From Finesse we use several pair of dice but less than the 200 he uses. We use 5 pair of dice. After we throw all the dice we can get them and start over. If we use too many dice we find that the landing area can become way over crowded and the dice hit each other either as they land or after they come off the back wall and you don’t get a true result. Secondly using Brothelman’s idea of watching where the dice land will give you a good indication of what you are doing wrong, whether it be grip, back swing, or dice level at release—you get the idea. And lastly but by no means lease important, Timmer suggesting that you don’t set the dice so that you mind is not concerned about the results. Rosee and I and Timmer do not perfer the pipless dice (a personal choice as pipless dice are good for some people). Here is why—with no pips on the dice it is difficult to see rotation of the dice as they travel to the back wall. Again, a personal choice and we have used both.

If you see one die leading or higher than the other it is probably a grip issue and you can grab the gripper and correct that. If the dice are doing side ways as they hit the table bottom you are not level to the table and that can be corrected.

Just a great routine. There is one letter difference between the words adopt and adapt. As an example you may want ot use 10, 15 or 20 pair of dice at a time. Nothing wrong with that. Just adopt or adapt this concept to what works best for you.

We hope to see everyone in the casino soon.

If you need to see the rotation just draw a line vertically around the dice and then one on the horizion and you can see the ratation better than any other dice you use. except for the black and white dice they are the ultimate for looking at rotation.

The one thing I think is missing in this discussion is when you notice an issue that you don’t over correct or in trying to correct you make too many changes at the same time. In an effort to get back to the longer number of throws – cut out the early 7’s and correct an issue with my wrist not being square when the dice exit my fingers I have damaged my throw and my confidence.

I worked on my blance and keeping my weight better distributed. I worked on keep my shoulders more square and not bending over the table so far, and I worked on my grip to make a better C grip. I also worked on my follow through. So far the follow-through has lead to the best results but periodically my wrist is still not straight. Increasing the C has lead to a variety of problems so I am going back to what’s comfortable. So tomorrow I am going to try to get up and out over the table a little further and get my shoulder swinging again. And I am going to break down and buy a gripper verses the one I made so that there is no excuse and get my GTC mojo back. I’m starting my warm up with the shoot for the bowl and move it around a little, then strictly work on my form verse the out comes. I am using green and red dice and watching how they land and where they end up. The saga continues and no one said it was going to be easy. Practice, Patience and Practice.

All good ideas,

the hardest part for me is mental difference between practice and actual play. BY that i mean when i am practicing
and the throw looks good and it is a 7, i just pick them up and throw again. Casino play is different, or seems
different…. i guess the 7 costs more….

The game i guess is a little up and down…. you go good for while and i am not sure, but i think you pay less
attention to your toss…..it looked ok and the result was good…. keep throwing..

then you get a poor day or two, and you say wow that throw looked good , so did that one etc or you make
an adjustment to keep your dice closer to the wall after they hit and its a seven couple of times in a row. At
your practice table… you keep going, on a real table you have to wait until it is your turn again.

getting your mind tough is also important.

I have two types of practice: one is when I practice to improve my skill in controlling the dice along with technique. When I do this I do not care what the results are as far as what the number is I am looking at the landing, flight all elements of the toss.

The other type of practice is when i am practicing casino sessions, here I am practicing my betting so it is automatic and I do not have to think about what I am going to do when a number hits. Kind of like a baseball player saying to himself "if the ball camoes to me what am I going to do with it, where am I going to throw it".

The other thing I do when I am practicing betting is when I throw a 7 I walk away and take a break. In the casino they take the dice away from us, I do this for mental training.

If anyone has more specific questions please ask, we are all here to help.

No one said this is easy!

Would you go to an interview for a life changing job with something that is comfortable, or would you go lookning sharp.

Looking comfortable is easy just throw on somthing.

Looking your best takes time and preperation you know your hair matching tye and so on then when you look in the mirror you know you are rady giving you confidence making you feel extremly comfortable knowing you have done all that you can to succed

so do you make your grip comfortable or do you work at it until it is right at which time the confidence level goes through the roof, which i believe would be even more comfortable.

At first I thought that you were talking about shoes just kidding. I know that you work on the grip and your rolls show it.
Will be heading your way end of April.
Good Rolling. 😀
