South Point Adds Resort Fee: First it was Cosmo (see "Today’s News" 1/16/2013), then Caesars Ent. (see "Today’s News" 2/21/2013), and now comes word that as of March 1, South Point will be jumping on the resort-fee bandwagon. The mandatory charge will be $14/night ($12.50, plus tax), and for many people this might be good value, since the existing daily charge for Internet access is $12.99, and the resort fee will also cover boarding-pass printing, access to the fitness center, local/toll-free calls, airport shuttle to and from the property (currently complimentary), valet parking, and a funbook that contains offers like 50% off the buffet, complimentary showroom admission, and free cocktails (but no gaming offers).
