Skinny, don’t know the specifics of One World Trade Center as compared to The Empire State Building but which is or will be the tallest? Just wondering. It is indeed a wonderful tribute to those who died in the tragedy.

1WTC is taller

If you look at picture 35 you see a beam that was signed by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

I was having dinner with some friends and one of them was working at 1WTC. She told me about that beam. They were not ready to put that beam in place until some time after it was signed. In the meantime, it was brought to a place in NJ where they were keeping some of the supplies for future construction. That beam was sitting out in the open with other materials in a storage location in NJ until they were ready to bring it back to 1WTC.

Obviously there was no place to store the materials they needed in the future in Manhattan so they kept the stuff off site at a location nearby in NJ. I think she said there may have been one security guard at the place. But I don’t remember since that was awhile ago. It is possible it was sitting out in a yard someplace with only a fence around it. After all, it would not be very easy to steal a huge iron beam and move it through the streets of a bunch of towns.

why would anyone want a beam with Obama’s signature on it?
