The last few weeks I have been playing at the only "casino in town" with no options to go to another. Suddenly they have taken the attitude " pick up the dice and throw’m". Last night they even picked on chicken feeders who took a couple seconds to set the dice before they fed the chickens.
Last night I was at SL2 ( they won’t let me stand at SL1 because with my pendulum swing they think I am too close to the wall on a 14 foot table – remember the only game in town) and was the fifth thrower after they opened the table.
Normally, I use a hard 8 on top with the fives facing me. Knowing the hassle I was in for, I would receive the dice and move them so the 1 and 6 where on the axis and then throw the dice. I had a fun night and increased my buy in by 33% so the 401G grew a little.
Now the question: Faced with this situation in the future which is better: should I have adjusted the dice and thrown with one die with the 1 and 6 horizontal and the other die with the 1 and 6 vertical? Or the 1 and 6 on the horizontal that I used? Also, I always have toks out for the dealers. Thanks, for your thoughts and input. Set44 ❓ 😀 😀

First, does every person in the casino have the same attitude? Is it the same on every shift? In other words are there crews or pit personnel who are more tolerant on different shifts or tables? If they are all the same then lets go to the next solution.
Are there stick people whom you are able to ask to pass you the dice with the fours on top? You could say something like you are superstitious or those are your lucky numbers or maybe you can come up with another excuse. Since you tip them, there may be some dealers who are willing to work with you. If you get the fours on top you can quickly rotate them so the fives face you.
If that is not possible then try the next solution. First read my post about how to set the dice quickly in the wisdom pages. Here is the link to that post. http://www.goldentouchcasino.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=112 With practice you can pick up any die and put it down in front of you so that the four is on top and the five is facing you. As I say in the post you should be able to do this with one motion no matter how the die is oriented. All you have to do when the dice are passed to you is pick up each die separately and put it down in front of you in one motion. I do this in less than 1 second and it looks like I am picking up the dice separately and putting them down in front of me when in reality I am setting them with my standard set.
Finally, if none of those work here is my last solution. No matter how the dice are passed, you can turn them into one of 3 sets by rotating them about their vertical axis, the way you did to put the one and six on a certain axis. The 3 sets are the 2V, 3V or hard way sets. Billy the Kid tells an hilarious story about what happened to him when he played at the original Monte Carlo casino in Monaco, not the one in Vegas. You need to hear him tell that story in person because it is a riot. The upshot of the story is they would not let him set the dice. But they did not mind if he rotated them about the vertical axis. So that is what he did.
I don’t remember the technique for rotating the dice to turn them into one of the 3 sets. But I do know that any pair of dice can be turned into exactly one of those 3 sets by rotating them about the vertical axis. Maybe someone else on the board can help out here.
Let me know if this helps.

The 20 Cs work good most of the time.Dealers are human too.
Try tok on your roll only.
I now put out a pass line bet for them on my roll but only add odds when I make money on another number. So say my point is 4 and I place the 6 and 8 when I roll a 6 or 8 I will take one dollar and put up odds for them. This also helps me to know when to start up a unite. They seem to like it and they pay more attention to the game along with my bets.
Lots of times the dice are sent back to me set in one form or another. Some times even the pit looks at them and sets them to see what my reaction is.I have been asked at times how I like them set but always say I have no set way. When ever they talk about classes or other things I just let it go in one ear and out the other.
Don’t let them get your goat. 😀 😀
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

number is picked put up a dollar bet for the crew. Of course you need a visual aid. "Can you show me what that looks like?" I can’t see any reason the stick would not be glad to set the hard whatever their money is on up as a visual aid to help you get them paid.
This has worked for me at casinos I have not played at much. What we do is no seceret anymore so we don’t avoid notice when we play. At least if we draw notice we can turn it as positive as the situation will allow. If you play at this location ofter it won’t be long before the whole process becomes automatic. These people are working for a living and will most likely take any cover you offer to keep the boss off their tails.

I had a tip on the line with odds for the dealers, when the dice were in the middle I scanned them and know what I was going to do to get my hardway set. I NEVER had one dealer in the week I was there tell me I couldn’t set although they said it to others at the table. Why because I rotated them into a set in about 1.5 seconds or less. I have had a monster roll at one casino without any comments to me.
So people learn to scan the dice as they are in the middle of the table, know how you are going to set them before they get to you, and tip.

I have been practicing ration setting as I put the die together and have cut my time considerably and into a smooth motion. I will be trying the new skill later this week. It is a Great Day for Craps. Set44 😀

What do you see as the biggest flaw in grips you observe?
Posted by: Mr Finesse on March 17, 2013, 2:22 pm
Every individual will do something different when their grip is off, so it is difficult to one thing happens more than another. If I had to pick one I would say it is most people grip the dice to TIGHT, they need to be gripped lightly so they almost fall out of your fingers when you lifth them from the table top.
