What is the vision for GTC going forward?

Spread the love

It has now been several days since Frank’s surprise announcement.
I like most am sorry to see Frank moving on. I am sure this is the
right time to get on with other things in his life. Best wishes Frank.

Now my question for Dom and the GTC instructors. What vision do you hold for GTC now?
As a students and active member of GTC I am wondering where your leadership will take
this organization. I have nothing but respect for Dom. He is a smart guy with a world of knowledge
in the area of Dice Controll and Advantage Play so I am sure GTC will remain the best in it’s field.
Dom we look forward to great things for GTC with you at the helm. Thanks in advance for your insight.

JRC,

A very good question. In visiting with Dom and several instructors, Alligator Rose and I truly believe that GTC will continue with its mission of helping many players become advantage players. In other words many things will remain the same. Why reinvent the wheel when you have the best. However a few minor changes will take place as any organization can use some suggestions for improvement.

Dom and the instructors that I have talked to, still have the same commitment to excellence.

JRC and others on this board, stay tuned and watch GTC continue to grow and provide an excellent environment for advantage play.

Just our $.02 cents worth.

Great question and answer.
I’m signing up for Tunica refresher this week.

Posted by: JRC on January 27, 2013, 2:58 am

Doc I am sure Dom will maintain the quality of instruction GTC is known for. I think he cares great deal
about helping all of us reach our goal of Advantaged Play. He has the best instructors behind him.

I am just as sure he has or will soon have his own ideas as to how to improve an already great program.
One thing I would like to see is advanced class, tuneup, and video analysis in Memphis and Chicago. I can’t be the only one that would like to add these to my education without a trip to Vegas or AC. In fact I would like to be able to have a tuneup more than once in 2013 except for the travel expense to Vegas and AC on a class weekend. Neither are within a resonable distance of my home in Texas. I don’t like to fly so these are out of reach for me. Ok stop laughing,I am not afraid the plane will crash or anything. I can’t carry my consealed handgun so I don’t go but this not the place to have that conversation.

TommyC, you will gain a lot from the refresher. I have been thru it twice and trust me it is time well spent. If tuneups and video analysis become available I will be there as well.

I would like to see at least six instructor responces to all questions.

We have hundreds maybe thousands of people reading this, instructor responce would breed more questions and create desire for more knowledge, intern bring this site back to life!!!!!

By creating more life you would increase the desire to do, intern that would create more desire for classes, more shooters growth!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Finisher on January 27, 2013, 5:41 am

bMAN good LUCK with that. Six whoooo ??? I will wait and see. The most answered post lately is about Frank going on to better things that he is better at with no practice to do .
Hope that you will not change and still play with ALL that call .
I think that more instructors should have a little more then what they do on input on this site but I do realize it is up to them and most don’t. They are great when you are taking the class but not to much before or after. But that is just my thinking.
Have not played craps in a casino for some time now and that it is cold have not been practicing .

Hope to roll with you again or just meet and enjoy some small talk.
Good Rolling.

Brothelman,

Amen to that! CPR is needed here!! 🙁

Dom is very creative and an excellent business man, and will continue to bring GTC forward. He has spoken with all the instructors to get our ideas and suggestions. Some of the structure may stay the same, and there may be some changes. It has been a very short time since Frank made his announcement.

For those who have taken more than one class, you probably have seen that changes have been on-going through the years. Many have come through student suggestions. GTC has always seen itself as responding to the needs of the students, and it will continue to do so. The basic mission will remain the same: teaching people to become advantage players, money management, and following the 20 commandments.

Goddess

Posted by: Stickman on January 27, 2013, 1:59 pm

What will happen to GTC in the coming months and years may not be totally clear, but what is clear is the total dedication to giving the students the absolute best training in how to beat the casino.
Goddess is right on stating the class has changed over the years – virtually always for the better. That will not change. Dom’s and all the instructors desire to help produce the best results for students will also not change.
There is no doubt Frank will be missed. How can he not be? He has felt other callings and will pursue them. No matter how much he will be missed, that is his prerogative.
However, from its inception, GTC has been crafted to encourage and accept input from everyone involved. When a group takes the best ideas from everyone in the group and acts on them, the group tends to be much better than an individual could make it. The more members having input the better the group tends to be. GTC has the largest group of members of any similar group that I know. By acting on the input of others in the group, GTC will continue to provide the best instruction on advantage casino play in the world.
Dr. Crapology said it in a previous post, Dom and the instructors still have the same commitment to excellence. That is what is important.

I second that Stickman. When I took my Primer I was disappointed and responded about what I thought could help. Several months later, Dom emailed me and talked about what I had written and what they were working on to answer my issues. A year later at my refresher almost everything had improved with some things improving immensely! With that happening in my eyes I put my two cents in again about the changes and how it was appreciated.

So again, the crew led by Dom will continue, for the better, because the instructors want the students to succeed and probably from every student the instructors learn something new that help them.

THAT only comes from a group of people that care about what they are doing.

As far as posts from the staff, we all are busy in our own ways, and the ones that make and take the time to post WILL! An example could be last year I lost my Mom, and the wind in my sails disappeared. I mostly only lurked once in awhile. My mind set is returning, and hope to contribute posts going forward.

So as long as a leader is at the rudder that is piloting the GTC boat forward this forum will thrive.

If as a lurker, you feel that something is lacking in your eyes, let Dom know. HE DOES LISTEN! It might be a different section in the forum, changes in class schedule, etc.

The goals have, and most likely, will remain the same. To be the best dice control and advantage play school….anywhere. All of us are firm believers that GTC is that right now, and has been for a long time. The other instructors have stated it already, that GTC has changed for the better over the years mostly through student input, and through teaching principals and business best practices. Instructor and Intern input has always been sought as well.

I, along with all of us, have the utmost respect for Frank and we are sad to see him retire. He wants to see the world and has many things he wants to do, and we can’t be sad for that. Improving one’s life though the many experiences this world has to offer cannot be questioned by others. I respect that as I would want the same courtesies. Frank will be sorely missed; his humor, wit, and ability to associate gambling and life experiences in a unique way that we all get it, and can relate. That’s why most all of us were attracted to his books. But, as they say, life must go on.

Stickman stated it eloquently, when a group this size has so many great ideas to improve, the group improves. Dom has always had the students as his number one priority, we’ve all seen it. He’s an excellent thinker, very smart, and passionate person, and cares tremendously about the success of the student and the success of GTC. As a former student and now employee, I would not accept anything less…..and knowing Dom, it would out of character for anything less.

We are just now asking the questions on improvement strategies. That is part of change management and it doesn’t happen overnight. Dom will certainly make excellence, compassion, and commitment continued attributes of GTC, but please be patient as the direction is formulated and vetted within the organization. GTC will continue to be the best advantage play outfit around. It’s an exciting time to be a part of this.

My two cents…

Kind regards,
SectionEight

Sorry if anyone took offense at my post—it was only in regard to this forum and not meant to be harsh with regard to Dom, any GTC instructors or the classes. I think all of those things are wonderful and I LOVE GTC and that is why I am so frustrated with this forum at times and think it could be so much more than it is.

Scan did another post on this forum so see "Nobody asked me but…". Luckily Scan is so much more eloquant than I am but I do agree with everything he said.

Did see four instructors post here though and that was a positive sign!! 🙂

I am pleased to see such response to this post. It is so good to hear from several instructors. All of you are right. It is up to us the members of this forum to kick start things here. I think this could be a good start.

Please take a few minutes to join into this post with your ideas. Thanks to all that have responded so far.

The GTC organization will continue to grow and evolve into the future. Many of the changes that have taken place over the last ten years are a direct result of Dom and Frank listening to the students comment cards at the end of each class. We value the input of each and every student to continue to strive for excellence in teaching. The classes have improved 110% since I first took my primer class. Change is good for any organization and Dom will lead it successfully into the next decade.

Hi All

I have been out of commission for a good month. I want to post something here and I will post a separate thread in the next few days.

When a close friend and partner tells you he wants to retire and that he has thought this through with his wife and made his mind up there isn’t too much to say. It was shock to me and I will miss his impute, but not his friendship because will will always be friends.

I appreciate all the kind words that others have said. Golden Touch was conceived 10 years ago to be the best advantage school there is and we have come near to achieving this. I say "near" because I believe that when you think you have reached the mastery level in anything then you are doomed to fail. So Golden Touch will continue to strive to give our students and those on this site the best information and teaching that we can give in trying to reach our goal of being the best "Advantage Play School" there is.

I have sent emails and have talked to all of the partners and some of the instructors in the last month. They have given me many ideas which I know will make us even better. Somethings in class will remain the same and somethings will change. Without change, stagnancy happens. The changes will all be for the better I hope and if not, things will change again. Our class today is far different than that very first class that the Goddess and Sandtrap took.

As far as partners/instructors posting more, please remember that all of them have other businesses that they own and where they make their income. They dedicate their time during our seminars and they give 110% while they teach. They love teaching but some just don’t have the time to post. I am thankful that you that do post have great comments.

The vision that is Golden Touch has always been to make our students the best they can be, to give them everything we got at the seminars, and to try to convince them that our way works and will get them to the promised land of being "advantage players".

I thank everyone for your support and you have my word that the change that will take place will only be to help you all to become better

We all know that Dom will continue to show his great leadership skills. He has always kept us going in the right direction.

I am confident Dom and the instructors will continue to support everyone involved in GTC.

We can’t expect instructors to post daily on the site. They all have careers outside of GTC and take time to travel to classes and hone their skills.
Regular posting takes up more time, and the instructors are already taking up extra time on instruction.

I will agree that I know there probably is interest to justify for the video analysis and advanced classes in Chicago. I’ll start with the video.

First thanks again for the kind words.

I did forget to post the reasons we don’t do the advanced or video analysis in Chicago or Memphis …. at least for now. It has to do with the size of the class and the equipment that is needed for the video. Chicago and Memphis are usually a smaller class so the two instructors, Billy and Daryl, don’t attend those classes. Those two guys are our main guys with the video and advanced class. So for now they are held in Atlantic City and Vegas.

BTW, those classes are usually sold out quickly because there are only there, so those of you that want to attend, put your reservations in early

Dom,

I don’t like the answer but it is pretty much what I expectrd. I run my own business and understand the economics of that answer.

Maybe a diferent question is in order. I controll the decission of myself and two members of my team. If we
commit to tuneups and videos in Memphis. How many more would it take to make the numbers work? I think this valuable training and would love to help raise enough interest to make it happen.

If you are out there and would sign up in advance for these training tools in Memphis this year please
speak up. I know Dom will listen if enough of us will come.

Thanks Dom for taking the time to explain the why of this decission. I hope we can change that.

Well, three almost does it! Actually, We probably could do it with three but four to 5 would be more economical

Thanks Dom,

I have one more team member that lives in a different city. I am sticking my neck out here but I feel pretty sure I can get the fourth.
Give me a day or two to get that worked out. Contact me off the board at jr_c@msn.com or 713 819 8521 if you want to talk about how to make it work.

that would like to come to Memphis for a tuneup or video analysis. Let’s put a group togrther. Dom said
four or five would be enough. He did not say what the max number is. Maybe he can tell us what that number is. I would like nothing better than fill it up.

JRC

Posting on the site will not cut it.
I am interested and have told Dom already. We need you two and one more. Please call Dom and notify him, and we will see you at the class!
