Seriously, who cares? People can be what they want to be within reason. If a person wants to be gay, has feelings for men, so what? I don’t get the hysteria.

I am with Bret that we should not give a damn what someone’s sexual orientation is. Live and let live.

Can straights be "converted" to gay? I don’t think so!

Sometime in the early 1980’s there was an article published in Playboy (if my memory is correct) about research into why some people are gay and others not. Bisexuality was included. The findings were that during your mothers 1st trimester her body releases a certain hormone. If you get too little or none you tend to be gay, if you get just right you tend to be heterosexual and if you get a little more than normal you tend to be bisexual. The child has no choice, obviously. This hormone can be measured after you are born as to what level you got during that 1st trimester.

These results were not widely published but I expect many were afraid of what might happen if the public really knew what happens and religion plays its part as well and maybe even politics.
I don’t believe that after you are born it is reversible by injections of the hormone and I’m not sure if any were tried. The 30+ years that have passed has dulled the memory somewhat.

I believed the article and still do today, hence my opinion on gays and they don’t even understand it themselves. I think the proof is all the activism we see these days. It is definitely not a "choice", you don’t just wake up and say "gee, I think I’ll be gay". Believe what you want, I don’t care either way. I just don’t think they have a choice as to how they are any more than you have.
