How can the majority of the public think that government is too big and needs to change and still elect the same people to office?
It just seems to me that the people in this country will talk about the debt and the size of government, but still believe that government is the answer to all these problems. Almost eight percent unemployment and still the man gets reelected.
No change in congress but two additional seats in the Senate, what is going to change in the next 4 years?
Obamacare becomes law and those of us with private insurance will see our rates go up as they have last year.
We live in a country where it was once the neighbors that helped during bad times and now 52% of the country is asking government to help…and where does that help come from since the government doesn’t earn any money but just take it from us…YOU AND ME!
What a morning for the takers!

Perhaps ignorance, and/or apathy, and/or self-centered greed and/or fear that change would makes things worse… for them… π
Not necessarily in that order…

Yesterday the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 133 points, based mostly on the expectation of a Romney win.
Today, with the news of Obama’s reelection, the Dow was down over 300 points and and closed down 312 points.
The Motley Fool did an analysis of what it takes for the market to drop 300 points. Here are some excerpts from their research:
"There have been fewer than 60 trading sessions in which the Dow suffered at least a 300-point loss."
Here is a list of some of the events that triggered those losses, in no particular order:
504-point drop after Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy,
449-point plunge in the wake of the AIG bailout
778-point crash when the House initially rejected what would eventually become the TARP bailout
635-point fall when Standard & Poor’s downgraded the credit rating of the U.S.
685-point decline on the first day of trading after the September 11 attacks
The tech bust also contributed to major losses, as the untimely addition of Microsoft and Intel to the Dow in late 1999 near the market’s peak gave the average more tech exposure at exactly the wrong time.
Prior to that, losses tied to financial crises in Asian currency markets in 1997
and in Russia in 1998 caused big drops
as did 1987’s big crash and its 508-point plunge.
The conclusion is the market is placing the news of Obama’s reelection in the same category as some of the events listed above.
God Bless (the once great) America.

I’m going into "Self Preservation" mode. Going to buy several thousands more rounds for my weapons. Stock pile non-perishable food stuffs and become even more prepared than I was before this. You folks in NY and NJ just got a small taste of what is in store when the inevitable crash happens. Your Ghetto Gators are really going to be fun to deal with once their free checks stop appearing on "Mothers Day" as it is called.
Good Luck

I just LOL when I hear all these hunters talking about all the assault weapons that they need for hunting. Using choppers for hunting give me a break or should I say give the animals a break.
In my home town they just added a new tax on guns.
I think they should just make it harder to buy ammo. Like you can only get more if you bring what you have used.Bring your brass and get more. I think that everybody should be able to own them if they want . But if you don’t use them why have them. Most of my relatives have more guns then arms. But they use them for different game.

So we can stop the lawlessness by controlling bullets, make it difficult for the law abiding to get them. Ok, I’ll bite. How is that going to stop the criminal from getting all they want. Here’s a better idea, we can have all the guns we want. They just have to be given over to the police for storage and you can only access them for cause. Your going hunting … Yea, you can have this rifle and one bullet. No, you can’t have this one for home protection, that’s what we the police are for.
Really, your for gun ownership? Just under restrictive terms … For the good folks.

As a retired Police Officer I have more insight into the harm caused by unlawfully possession of them than most. I will vehemently fight for the law abiding persons unabridged right to guns and ammunition.

I wish that the laws would be enforced more . Some times I think that your hands are tied and I am no were near the bad guys.
Good Rolling. π
