Yankee Fans Talk Baseball with Me for a Minute

I had a big problem with 2 moves Girardi made last night, but I am not a major league manager so maybe I missing something. With the score 2-0 in the 8th inning, Girardi leaves Derek Lowe in the game to start the 8th. He was brought in to pitch to Cabrera with 2 outs in the 7th which amazingly worked. Derek has pitched decent for The Yankees in a few tight games but he is passed his prime and basically our long relief/mop up guy. With the score 2-0 why is he coming out to start the 8th? From my perspective I’m thinking at this point that yes The Yankees have blown golden opportunities but with score 2-0 all it takes is a bloop and a blast. Even though they were losing in the 8th I felt that Robertson who pitched the 8th all year should have been in the game to keep the score 2-0. I felt like that was very important. Lowe gives up 2 runs and now it’s 4-0.

You bring Robertson in to pitch the 10th and 11th and take him out after 2 easy innings. You bring in Phelps(A rookie) to pitch in the 12th against the triple crown winner, fielder and Young(who always kills The Yankees). Phelps pitched decent but I definitely would of brought Phelps in to face the bottom of the order and left Robertson in to pitch to the heart of the line-up. Granted if Nick Swisher doesn’t suck so bad, phelps probably gets out of it and maybe just maybe Jeter doesn’t break his ankle.

Also, with Gardner on 2nd with 1 out in the 10th, I was praying Gardner was going to try and steal 3rd. With all the problems The Yankees had scoring runs, I felt like Gardner should have tried to steal 3rd with Russel Martin up with 1 out.

I’m still pissed off so please don’t mind me.

They seem to be sleepwalking through games. Cano, Rodriguez, Swisher, Granderson…maybe someone put drugs in their sunflower seeds? Right now it is depressing if you are a Yankees fan.

The problem with the Yankee "so called stars" is all in their heads. They are head cases and the number 1 & number 2 are Arod and Cano.

Cano is not a very smart player who has all the talent in the world, he never runs hard or plays hard because he doesn’t have to to be a great player. If he ever wakes up and plays the way great player play he could be the best of this era.

Arod is just over the hill and has had his day’s in the sun.

Swisher is demonstrating again like he has done in previous playoffs that he can not hit good pitching. He is a very good hitter when pitchers make mistakes but the pitchers in the playoffs do not make that many bad ptiches

Granderson is just being granderson, he will hit a homerun when he see’s a bad pitch, unfortunatly not enough in the playoffs.

Our Yanks are in trouble but I will keep on watching and hoping they wake up.

Has ARod ever NOT sucked in the post season? Honestly I don’t recall, but I stopped caring about him when the door hit him in the ass on his way out of Seattle.

Too bad about Jeter. For a Yankee, he seems like an OK guy.

Mr. Finesse, that pretty much sums it up.
