I think dealers know how to pay off the bets but whether they really understand the percentages of the game is up to questioning.

It’s not up to questioning. They don’t really know the math. I tried to talk to one about up a unit and he got mad and said I was dead wrong. Most have no idea about the percentages of the game and trying to enlighten them is a waste of your, mine and everyone else’s time.

I will bet that 1 in 100 may know some of the math and maybe 1 in 10,000 knows it. Some here are players too and they still don’t know the math. It is sorta sad though.

I remember four dealer at Fitz in Tunica when casinos first opened decided they knew how to win at craps and formed a team to make there fortune at the other Tunica casinos.

They put there money together and came up with a "sure fire" betting method using hardest bets to make there fortune. As I remember they started out well with the Martingale betting but eventually the high house odds broke them.

They were all good as dealers, but not as players.

I had almost the exact same thing happen to me. One dealer kept saying that the come bet was not good. I didn’t argue. I just said I read about it in a great book and I would use this method. She ignored me the rest of the evening. As long as they pay off the bets correctly that is all they have to do.

Sadder than a dealer not knowing the game are players who bet their hard-earned money without knowing the math of the game. That is tragic.

Frank, I must agree it is tragic to see people throw away their money—but without them we night not have a good game. If every player did the GTC betting and our throwing technique the casinos would have to "tighten" up the game.

In defense of the ‘ploppies’ I will offer this.

A coworker likes to play slots. I explained that if he wanted his money to last longer, he might want to put forth a little effort and play some table games (BJ, craps, SP21). He said when he goes to the casino, he goes to have fun. He didn’t want to have to THINK while he was playing. That was his form of escape.

To each his own, I guess.

I have had boxman tell that i got taken by gtc how does it feel to be scamed.

I say i did not get scamed i learned the golden rules hit the wall and tip the crew.

Then i say how did i do, that normally ends with a you learned all you need to know.

what i want to say is why would you want to make me feel bad i am tipping your crew is that not the players you want in here.
I mean i am paying your salary by playing here y bust my balls i want to have fun.

Remember thuis truism: The crew, the boxman, the floorperson, the pit boss will never tell someone who really doesn’t have an edge that he doesn’t have an edge. They only tell those they believe have an edge that they don’t have an edge.

Mnnn Have you taken a class? I took the 10:30 class that the casino offered 3 yrs. ago is this casino offering one now ?
Did I read books ? Not vary much into reading since high school but have you heard of a good one ?
By this time they have stopped asking or the table is to full for them to keep asking questions.

I prefer is say as little as possible.I had one dealer tell me that he thought that I was new to the game. 😀 😀 I said nothing and just rolled. He went away and I never saw him again.
