Great on axis

Spread the love

Lois and I both took the dice 5 times today. Her on axis percentage was 82% and mine was 83%. Now before anyone gets all excited and wants to know how many hard ways we hit, we didn’t. That is because neither of us uses the hard ways set. We both get too many double pitch 7’s to suit us.

Now the bad part of the report. We only made a very small profit because I bet on the randies and lost. Lois has been telling me lately that I am squandering money and today I am convinced. In the future I will be 5 counting more (even on fellow GTCer’s) and betting higher amounts on ourselves.

Heaven knows why I have gotten away from the basic betting philosophy of GTC but I did.

I hope some of the newer players here will see the error in my most recent betting and use the basic play given to them in class. I know I used to play that way and 5 count and only bet come bets on randies but somehow I got myself side tracked.

I presume that on the ‘randies’ you are a right better.

Scratch a consistent winner, at your friendly private game and it is 97 to 3 that he’s not a right bettor.

The consistent right bettor, or chump, must lose in the long run because the odds are stacked against him.

Those are not my words but the words that I first read in 1946. I won’t mention the author as it seems to rankle folks on this message board. Sorry, but it was correct in 1946 and is correct today in a Random game.

Before dice control came into my life, in private games, I would never touch the dice and would bet against the dice. after the point was set. Even with true odds you have the advantage of frequency. Without true odds it’s a cake walk.

That is great on axis control!

How do you tell the off axis shoots with the 1 the 2 the 3 the 4 the 5 the 6 all being primary number in both the 2v and the 3v.

What did the dice have an 8 on them?

CIII
Dosn’t the house have the edge on the don’t side also?

Both to do and don’t have a HA on them. The HA are aost the same depending on how you comsider the time a 12 is rolled on the come out.

Yes, the House has an edge on the Don’t side.
You have to be cautious in reading my reply. We are talking about betting on ‘randies’ and there is no way to beat the House(casino game), over time, on Random Rolls. They have the Odds in their favor!!!

My statement was also related to a Private Game. The quote was from a ‘private friendly game’.

The vocabulary of Craps is loaded with words and phrases that can easily be misunderstood.
It is odd that there are so many different Odds in a Craps game language.
True Odds, [/*]
Correct Odds [/*]
Payout Odds[/*]
These also get mixed up with Probability and possibility.

Hope I haven’t misled you.

Many time I have to parse my own answers to be sure I stated what I wanted to say.

The House does not allow us to make side bets at their table. In a Private Game you can make side bets after the Comeout Roll.

O K Thanks. I’ve played in more private games than in a casino but it was usually me and someone else throwing against a wall from about 3 feet. I bet on me and he bet on himself. So when he was rolling I guess I was betting the don’t. They both seem like such different games I never compared them.

It can be tempting to bet on other shooters. Sounds like your influence is working on the dice. Great rolling. Looking forward to shooting together in a few.
