Latest old school Vegas hotel to get renovated.

Spread the love

This is the new Golden Gate.

I am staying in one of these redone Boutique hotels for a short trip next week. The place is beautifully decorated, contemporary, hip, clean and cheap. Yes, I would rather pay and stay in one of these places at a very reasonable rate when I an on a business trip because I cant put in the hours to play. It’s easier to pay than to hear a host whine about how you only put in 2 hours instead of four yada yada yada.

The last lace I tried was the renovated Plaza Downtown, it was the Union Plaza. The place is great. Whats more, the 2nd floor has one of the BEST steakhouse’s Oscars Steakhouse in Las Vegas. It’s old school charm. The cocktails are made to perfection, the ambiance is old school Vegas cool, and the view of Freemont St. will make you feel like you are looking at a postcard.

Best part is, HizHonner (that’s the title on his office door behind the bar) Oscar Goldman hangs out there with his showgirls nightly. Very apraoachable

Oscar Goldman and me in front of the wine cellar at his restaurant.

Of course I don’t forget all the sleazeball stuff he has done as well.

This is a picture of Tony "the Ant" Spilatro (2nd from left in a suit) and his brother Michael coming out of a Vegas courthouse, can you recognize the man in a suit on the left?

Thanks Pit Boss!

I like what they are doing downtown these days. I enjoy the "old" flavor of Las Vegas! 🙂

I, too am a fan of this joint.

Actually you are a fan of a number of places and your son and family ie. Photobucket shows BigRon1176’s album containing 158 pictures and film clips.

It is amazing how much we show of ourself when we post…

Thanks, CIII

I can not figure out how to just post the pictures straight to this site. Before I could copy and paste the code from photobucket but for some reason I can not copy the code anymore from the site and I don’t know another way to do it. Can any of you I-Phone users help me out on this one?

Glad you liked the album CIII. That was the first pic I put in there in about a year. I really only use photobucket to post pics on this site n since I haven’t been able to post pics, I really don’t use it.

Ron and CIII, I’m fairly certain that Tiny Pic got bought out by Photobucket.

Thx DP, looking forward to it.

Thanks, he’s my traveling partner. The Bellagio has a really nice(and cheap) game room for kids. 3 50 inch t.v.’s with PS3, X-Box, and wii with all the newest games and it’s free if you stay there. They had air hockey for a $1 and some cool arcade games for throwback prices of 25 cents. He didn’t want to leave the hotel. I hear some places will give you a gaming system for your room but I did not ask. On this trip we watched The Giants beat The 49ers in the NFC championship game. It was one of the best smash mouth football games I had seen in a long time, and I won some cash which made it even better.
