So I don’t post much to this site, but I had such a nice weekend in AC with my family that I thought I would share it with my GTC family.
My wife, three boys (6) (4) (newborn) and myself decided to spend a few days at the Jersey shore. We received a beautiful offer from the newest and most beautiful hotel on the boardwalk, so decided to stay there for a few days. I am more of a Connecticut gambler, so this was a nice change. We checked in early last Friday morning after hitting no traffic from the Westchester, NY area. While my wife settled into the hotel, I went down to sign up for a new card and receive my offer. I finally walked up to the craps tables around 12:00. Knowing I was meeting the fam at 12:45 for lunch, I grabbed SR1 (my preferred position even though I AM right handed) from the empty table. I am an extremely friendly person in the casino, so before I am handed the dice, I exchange names with all 4 dealers. I come out with a point of 8, take full odds, place a $6 8 for the dealer and take my $25 hard 8 with a $2 piggyback and come right back with the hard 8. All 5 of us are extremely happy. Long story short, alone at the table I rolled 26 numbers, tripled by buy in and ran to meet Deb and the boys, leaving the dealers pretty happy with me.
The rest of the day was spent on the beach followed by the beautiful in/out pool. Dinner was a simple Johny Rockets, and then a nice long walk down the boardwalk. We finally got back to the room around 9:30 that night. Boys went right to sleep, and Debbie, not being a gambler at all, is just as happy sitting in the jacuzzi with a good book. So I make my way downstairs around 10:30. Surprised to see many empty spots at the tables for a Friday night. I immediately take up SR1 and proceed to 5 count. Out of 7 players, I only got to play on 1 but making a couple of hundred dollars. Dice finally come to me. I established a point, hit 7 numbers and then the 7. About a break even for me. Continue the 5 count not playing on 1 person until the dice come back to me. I did the ultimate point/7 and walked away. My offer was a $1000 slot play. Since I am not a slot person, I went straight to a $5 machine, put the whole $1k in and played it until it was gone, building up $1175 in the win meter. I cashed it out and went to play Spanish 21. Not the greatest game to play, but I enjoy it. Started with $500 and cashed out $900 and went to bed with a nice profit for the day.
Saturday was enjoyable. Built sandcastles on the beach with the boys and collected seashells. Was a very nice family day which can never be beat. Dinner was at Carmines which is a favorite of Debbie’s followed by a long long walk from one side of the boardwalk down to the other. Finally got everyone to bed around 10:00 and went back downstairs by 10:30. Could not find SR open so jumped into SL1. At the table was 2 dealers from the previous morning who remembered me by name. Always a nice feeling. Dice came to me pretty quickly and I had a nice shoot of 21 with 3 points made. Me and the dealers made money. Next shoot was not as good with a 12 but also made a little money. Third one was a beauty of 35 with 5 points and several hardways, and everyone knows I am a sucker for those hard ways. Dealers were loving me. I was beat and at the one table for several hours so decided to go see if my wife was still awake. She wasn’t 🙁
Sunday was just as good as the day before. Mostly at the pool. We went back to the room on the early side, got ready and had a nice dinner in the hotel, then took the boys onto the Taj pier. Had a blast, and won a stuffed animal that is literally bigger then I am. After getting everyone into bed, Debbie goes down stairs to get her offer (???) She never gambles, and proceeds to turn her $500 into $1200. She is ecstatic and plans on visiting her favorite person, Louis Vuitton the next day. She comes back to the room around midnight and I leave to go down. Don’t have much luck. I grab a cab and drive down to the middle of the boardwalk where they offer 10x odds. (love it) I also want to maintain my Diamond status I cant get my position, so 5 count everyone including myself from the hook position, and still proceed to win a few hundred dollars. Around 2:00, I walk back to my hotel. Walk straight up to an empty table and proceed to SR1. Immediately start talking to the dealers and making bets for them. And because of it, once I throw the dice and hit a number, the dice are sitting in front of me before I get paid on the bet. I’m loving it. We are moving so quickly and I am in such a rhythm. I am up to roll 27 when I hit a hard 4. (not the point) The dealer has $10 on it and I hear one of them say "F it, lets parlay." So I say to the stick, "F it, so will I." And I guess in the speed and excitement, I didn’t realize I had $75 on it. So my hard 4 becomes $600 while theirs becomes $80. Stupid since I only have $300 on the 4 as a buy. But low and behold, my next roll is a 2-2. I am in such a zone, and having so much fun playing by myself. Because of the large hard way payout, this one takes a little longer. I notice 2 guys walk up to the table on the SL side straight out and each throw $20 in cash on the felt. I roll my eyes, but nothing is taking my attention off of my focus. The very next roll, I set my dice in my 3-3 hard way set, loft the dice as one of the shmucks leans into the table to put his $20 into the field, both dice hit his wrist, and guess what??? I am not a confrontational person, so I keep my mouth shut, however, the dealer on the left side of the table rips into them like I have never heard a dealer do. Made me feel good that they would stand up for me. Went to bed with a very nice profit because of my very ballsy move.
I took Monday off from work, so we spent most of the day in AC. Debbie bought her purse, we bought the boys a really cool zillion piece Lego set they wanted and had fun walking around and shopping. We left AC around 2:00 and was home by 6:00. After an awesome weekend of great quality family time as well as some great craps rolling, I am glad to be back at work and eager to get back to the tables. Thanks for reading, and I hope everyone had a great summer. One last note, I would recommend this hotel/casino to anyone. Beautiful hotel, small tables, hard felts and super friendly dealers.
