Posts of the Month

AUGUST 2012

Spread the love

This month the committee was unable to come up with a post that was interesting or different enough to warrant a POM. However, there were two that were voted the POD. Congratulations to AlamoTx and KellyS. We hope everyone will continue to post.

AlamoTx in response to a post by Dr. Crapology, "Where Do You Keep Your 401G?" should have people thinking.

KellyS: "Do You Want A Long Roll, or Small, Steady Wins?" generated a lot of responses.

An honorable mention goes to CIII for all his contributions, whether you could understand them or not. He is prolific in his contributions every month, and they are appreciated.

Thank you for the honorable mention.

The message board has been stuck with my many posts for the past month and a half for a couple of reasons.
My wife has been severely ill with shingles(right brain stem and right eye and temple) so I have been home attending to her.

My devoted computer crashed and I lost most of my former post, so while staying home I have re-written tables and charts into spreadsheets that I share. It gave me an opportunity to distill out some math questions that interest me(I only bored you with about 1/10 of them).

I am in a study group for cognitive impairment and possible precursors of Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Neurologist recommended keeping my self busy with physical and mental activity.

My usual routine is 2 days per week at a casino and I have missed all of these for a month and a half. I intend to renew practice with intentions to return to the casinos.

I will spare you meaningless posts until i can write a significant trip report. I have an 80 roll for my eightieth year and will try for an 81 for this year.

Sorry about your wife, Sally had shingles once, and I got a vaccination for them as they can be horrible.
Like you, I’d like to roll my age but it keeps getting harder as I have more than you.

I AM NEW AT THIS- IS IT POSSIBLE TO WIN WHEN EVERY BODY LOOSES,AND WHEN HALF THE TABLE WINS AND WHEN EVERYBODY WINS. JAIME.

Jal

Welcome if you are new.

First, in this type of posting in all caps is considered like you are in a group and SHOUTING, which I don’t think you meant to do.

Second, yes since everyone at the table has their own individual series of bet, the rest of the table winning or losing doesn’t mean you will.

However, if you are at a table with GTC types, and you are taking to heart what GTC teaches, then your bets would be similar to those bets of others at the table and your results would be similar.

noath, i did not make my self clear. what i meant to say was if 99% of all players at the table loose, is it possible for me to win, and everybody else loose. the same with half the players at the table, when half the player win,is it possible for me also to win. and last, if every everybody wins, i being one of every body i also will win. thank you for your input. new at this. jaime.

It just depends on how everyone is betting.
