There sure are a large number of member who have not posted. There are many names that I miss from the past
Some instructors who have not posted and that I have never met(are they for Poker or Blackjack so that I would never meet them).

Perusing the list is enlightening.

First I noticed that many of the most prolific posters ae some very seasoned senior citizens. Seeing octagenarians that are still out there playing is awesome!

Secondly, there has to be some type of computer error, I looked at the names and something is not right, for instance "Seth’, that is not a common name. Yet there are numerous versions of the name. Perhaps when the data was transferred from the old site something went wrong.
As for hundreds and hundreds of names of non posters, that is an enigma.

Third, lots of people have fallen by the way side, This is good and bad.
Sometimes when people come here they start off like gangbusters. However when they find this is no get rich quick plan they give it up.
We have also had our share of members that have tried to make money by scamming other members.
We also have had our share of drama. The dice community, since the first posts (many many yeaars ago)on the old Usenet boards, have been fighting amongst themselves. Some battles are legitimate some just silly.

I check in on the board all the time, if I am sitting waiting for the dentist, doctor or barber I look to see if there are any interesting posts. Yeah it has been a bit moribound lately but it is quality not quanity that counts, I prefer that to the old "DumDum",,"Red State" and "Bruce Bacus" type posts. Don’t you? Those ridiculious posts only generated more nonsense posts. This is a premier board and there is no place for that here.

I think tht the board gets busier right before and after classes especially the Atlantic City class, which generates the most posts.

Final thought on the topic of members, one of the best names ever used here was Sal Sagev. Think about that one.

Very enlightening, and yes, I do miss some of the posters very much and some very little. I only posted the name and title half of the one page in my post as I didn’t wish to indicate who posts and who never posts. Quite interesting…

I belong to some of those other dice message boards and on one of them there is a very interesting series of posts discussing the early shakers and movers along with the eventual combining and breaking up that occurred . It is quite a shame, but I guess that that is human nature.

In my voyage through different casinos. I have had the privilege to meet and hear the stories from some of the individuals. The stories are told quite differently from person to person(just like politics and religion.

The members list is interesting, but suspect. The earlier message board had no such information.

we don’t post alot , but we do read the postings almost every nite, dad told me you’ll learn more by talking less. we have put alot of time and work into dice control, we have our own 14 foot table, we play every nite unless we are at a casino we both have had rolls over 50, so we don’t realy have much to ask or talk about but are always looking for tips and good stories. we hooked up with one player a long time ago, we had a great run he met up with us and tried to rob us but was supprised by my 22 poking in his gut. so we havent had much luck with that even though we would love to toss dice with other gtc players. keep posting and we will keep reading.

I hope the guy who tried to rob you was not a member of this board or a GTC student. But I am guessing his nickname is Seth. (Wasn’t Seth Adam and Eve’s third son?) I am guessing the computer gave this as a user name if the signer didn’t change it.

The Members section is highly searchable!

It took me quite a while to figure it out as each section toggles between different states.

Everything that is in bold above can be searched and toggled between two different states(forward and backward)(alphabetical)

[list]The toggling can become confusing as there are multiple states that can be toggled for example:

I find many names listed suspect. The reasons for multiple uses of the same name may be plausible, but not understandable on the surface.

Alejandro is listed 33 different ways(with different initials and numbers after the name)

"Alligator" Rose is not listed at all(probably with her husband). A Rose by any other name…
