Phew!
Thank God Vegas has other places to play.
This thing with the arm, though, has been talked about before and when it was a genuine concern, the shooters in question stepped back so that they were as SL1.5 or SL2 and their arms didn’t go past the middle line or something. But when there is bad faith involved, they’ll hassle you for hitting the back wall when you are doing just that, they’ll nitpick about your throwing arm, they will find fault with the way you breathe… you name it.

Maybe for JUST fun we should play from the hook and complain about them. Then when the dice come to us just say the pit is not doing a good job at keeping the game going so I am going.
Say like quit the talk and complaining and let the roller roll. How about that since we will not be rolling there any way.
We are the customers right. If we went out to eat and got service like that we would complain.
I have left that place more then once.I have never thrown from my spot there so I was throwing out of frustration which is BAD.
i HAVE GOTTEN BETTER ABOUT NOT THROWING WHEN NOT IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

Been there and the hassles started even before I threw the dice!
After one throw I picked up my odds and passed the dice and quietly left.
Gave a poor review to an outside rating house and told them I wasn’t going back,
they were not the only game in town, and the rating house need not waste
any more of my or their time with any more feedback.

This is not a new excuse, but i find that more of the casinos that are afraid of what we do are looking for ways to take us out of our game.

I feel we are handling this wrong we should just move back a foot and continue to go at it never even giving it a second thought.

I have noticed that when i move back and make a point of showing them that i did by moving my chips and line bet they back off allowing me to go to work without hassle.

By moving back instead of leaving it also lets them know that they can not have an effect on what i am there to do.

Several downtown places are now doing this that did not use to.

It is a sign of the times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We msut learn to be more flexible and let the casino no we are here to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This rule has been in effect since long before anyone conceived of controlled shooting. Most casinos simply do not enforce it or even care about it. But there are some that do and there are some individuals who may decide upon themselves to enforce it even if it is not enforced by their casino.

Your hand is not supposed to cross into the "stickman’s space" because of the prop bets that are in front of him. It is his responsibility to watch the dice when they are thrown so he takes his eyes off the prop area at that time. In the old days before they had the sophisticated surveillance they have today, some individuals would practice sleight of hand and take some of the chips in the prop area as their hand crossed over the center line while the stickman looked in the other direction following the flight of the dice. The rule is not as important today as when it was first instituted so most do not bother about it. But it is still a rule for the protection of the casino money and has nothing to do with controlled shooting.

This stickman’s excuse about the eye in the sky not being able to watch the dice bowl was not accurate. Either he did not know the real reason or he did not want to tell you the real reason because it might sound like he was accusing you of being a thief.

This is not the only casino that enforces this rule. I have seen it at others. I know of a few casinos that go so far as to have a sign at the table that says your hand is not allowed to cross the center line.

The best thing to do is to simply step back a few feet, say I am sorry, and after the first throw from the new position to say something like " is that better." When he say that your position is OK and that will be fine give the box, or whoever made the comment, a thumbs up. Tell him thanks for the correction. They do appreciate that.

The last time this happened to me we played a little longer and when the we colored up I talked to the pit critter and told him I enjoyed playing there and thanks for being so nice in correcting my throwing position. A very positive way to let him know he will not intimate me in any way.

I feel you are right on the money Brothelman with your comment about us handling these situations all wrong. 😎

If we don’t miss a beat, give the impression that nothing will shake our confidence and do so in good humor the casino crew will stop trying to bother us—–at least at that table that day. If it does bother you then definitely color up and leave but give an excuse like "oh, I promised I’d meet someone for lunch and it looks like I have to get going." Never let them know they have bothered you or they will just continue to try it with all controlled shooters.

quick story.

There was a day when i was on playing with the contractor now they said nothing to him about gong over the middle but as for me they made me back up four different times almost putting me in the hook.

The look on the boxmans face everytime he made me back up was like now i got you, but i pressed on without missing a beat throwing more and more, i thought this guy was going to blow a gasket.

Now we are done and because i did what he said and made a point of asking is this okay, never saying you said that was okay last time,when we where coloring up he got all nice about everything to funny.

I was at the same place last month and the politely asked the stickman to ask one player (in the landing zone) not to place late bets. He did nothing and I continued with my roll. During the roll my arm brushed against something. The dice were returned to me and I set the dice, picked them and started to aim. Then I noticed it – he had the stick at pointing out towards the center of the table. I put the dice down and asked the stickman to bring the stick in or step back. He reply was “your arm will hit me in the face”. I passed the dice, took down the bets and left. I see the treatment is same for any controlled shooter.

Be carfull with the face thing normally they wiill not say anything about hitting them unless you are close, very close to them.

When I got hit in the head with stick it ALL LOL. But that was back East.
