Dice Weight

Spread the love

I was in Biloxi over the past four days and noticed that at (some?) casinos
the dice felt heavy. Could be me.

I just weighed 6 GTC dice and they weighed 2 ounces, which equates to
one-third ounce each die, and the GTC dice feel lighter in comparison.
Is the weight regulated? Are the GTC dice the same weight as for some
casinos?

Are the dice at the casinos different in sizes and therefore weigh
different? Are the GTC dice the smaller of different sizes?
Anyone has any ideas on this?

Casino dice are usually stated as to size and not weight, but if the die are larger then they would be heavier.

The dice sizes are stated as 0.755 inches and 0.775 inches.

Yes, I notice the difference in these sizes and go to different casinos that use each of these two sizes of die.

Right Click on the Images and chose View Image to reduce the size of the picture.

Note in the two images above, that the 0.755 die will fit in the original GTC Gripper, while the 0.775 die will not seat down in the GTC Gripper.

If you can obtain the dice from a casino you can measure the size of the die or if you have a Gripper, you can see if they will fit.

Staple has some very delicate postage stamp weighing machines. Take two different size die into Staples and give them a try.

Yes, I have one of those letter weighing scales.
That was what I used to weigh the dice I mentioned.
Weighed six GTC dice at 2 ounces, to get a more accurate 1/3 oz each.

So the GTC dice I have are the smaller of the two sizes, then.

To get one of those casino die which feels heavier, for weighing,
my next time at the casino I will pocket a die that falls off the table,
… no ‘SAME DICE!’ for that randy, LOL.
