How much did you color up?

Spread the love

Last time I shot @ an Indian Casino I colored up after playing for 7 hrs. I couldn’t stop until my feet hurt. I bought in for $200. I was doing the 5 count & betting pretty conservatively with 2 or 3 numbers with odds mostly.

I was tipping and I figure I had around $400 before my luck went the other way. I wasn’t ready to quit at breakeven because I was having so much fun.

But I colored up and went to retrieve my player’s card. The employee asked me how much I left with & I told him the truth, $205.

My point is, if they were using that to figure my comps, that seems unfair. I thought they were supposed to figure it from the buy-in & average bets. Why would they want to know the color-up amount ?

Check your card before you start playing and write it down . Then before you play again see what the change has been.I think you will be surprised. ( not good ).
But I do hope you will like the comps that they give you.
Good Rolling. 😀

They want to know the color up amount so they can keep track of their bank. Most casinos are only interested in tracking $100 chips and larger. If you had 2 black chips they probably were double checking their count.

It had nothing to do with your comps.

Your comps and points are based on your play, not on your win/loss.

Most casinos don’t sweat the wins or losses no matter the amount. They know that mathmatically they have an edge on every bet in the casino–except the odds bet. As was previously said, they only rate the average size of the bet, bets per hour (depending on the game), and time played to get the loss, that in theory they are guaranteed to win from the average player.

We are not average players.

As Skinny said they are simply keeping count of their bank roll—just like any advantage player does.

The guys are right. It part of job for the Box to keep track of what comes in V what goes out.
I also don’t think the win or loss is all that important unless the numbers are very large against the casino.

I will say the comps have gone down for me at the casino I play at often. It seems the GTC way of play
is not great for the comps as they have enough history to get a good picture of how you play. Add to that
your win loss record that should be to the plus side if you follow the GTC way.

The comps are what they are. Play your game the GTC way and enjoy whatever comps come.

I went back to the same casino and they asked me again how much I won. Thanks, everybody for explaining this to me. I guess that it seemed strange to me because they just started asking recently. Before, I would retrieve my Players Club card & they just said "thanks for playing" with no questions.

As for comps, I don’t get much any more. Probably because I don’t play slots there much any more. The American Casino guide says that the minimum payout for all ND Indian casinos is 80%. That’s not very good. Of course, I know that individual machines can be set higher.

I love video poker but it is not full pay & there are just a few machines on the floor & several in the smoky bar. It can be hard to find one that’s open. I’ve got a couple straight flushes in the bar, still waiting for that royal!

This casino is a poor excuse for Vegas but I am thankful to have any place to play out here in the sticks of the 2nd largest oil producer in the USA!

Happy rolling!
