Poll on Cheers

Spread the love

I am curious and would like to take an informal poll of readers on this forum. My question is – how many of you who are at least 35 years old have not watched Cheers? If you have not watched the show, do you have any idea what it is about?
Your replies will be greatly appreciated…..

Jerry

I’ve been to the bar in Boston, but didn’t usually watch the show.

A good friend of mine who is tall, slim and sometimes looks like Abraham Lincoln when he does a DVD is a real "Cheers" fanatic. He took the beautiful AP and me (and his long-suffering wife) to the "actual" Cheers bar and restaurant in Boston. I’d never watched the show so I had no idea that the bar did not look anything like the bar in the show.

But my friend tearfully told me the place looked nothing like the television show. Only the front of the building was the same. The dinner was eatable. I have no comment on the show which seems to have been a good one. The owners of this place in Boston are making a fortune off the pain and suffering of friends such as me of the people who loved "Cheers" and wanted to go to the "actual" place and dragged their friends along with them.

But I am feeling much better now, thanks.

The show was a classic ❗ ❗ ❗ According to this poll you seem to be a majority of one to have never watched a single episode.

And who or what was it that knocked on the door in the final episode after Sam had closed up?

Was it Coach’s ghost returning for one last look at the bar? Sam tells him, "Sorry, we’re closed." That line still makes me shiver.
