In the first article they claim there is no information being gathered to identify the individual, listen to conversations or read any text messages. But the technology is there.

In the second article they claim they are looking to streamline the way people can communicate with the government electronically. But at the same time they state, “We want people to interact with government much like they do with Facebook”. Facebook is a social media tool that enables people to stay in touch with their families and friends. Do you want to "friend" the government?
