We all know about the Battle of Gettysburg in July of 1863. I came across a new book about what happend after the battle entitled "A Strange and Blighted Land" by Gregory Coco. It talks about how the area residents delt with the burial of all those bodies that were laying for days in the hot sun. How they delt with the wounded of both sides (read that "amputations") and the POW’s. It’s a very graphic look at the aftermath of a very famous battle. The author included alot of eyewitness accounts. If your a Civil War buff, you may already be familiar with this book, if not, it’s worth a look.
