Most of you know who I play with and communicate with. The GTCer’s in the South really knocked ’em out this weekend. After losing mostly Fri. and Sat. 3 of them took over $150,000 off the table on a 1 and 1/2 hour roll.

This was on a $10 table. The shooter didn’t even let it phase him that the chips had to be replenished during the roll as the house was running out of $1000 chips, $500, chips and $100 chips. Don’t know exactly how many points were made but there were only 2 craps numbers thrown. Also don’t know how many come out 7’s were made.

Way to go you unsung heros.

😯 😮 But Clark, that’s so not fair!
That’s the kind of post that needs more details. I’m sitting here, hunched down like a witch, rubbing my hands together and dieing to know more.
Were you in on the action? Was the table full? Did you collect on any hardways? Come on, give us more! 😀 😛

The more will have to come from the shooters themselves. They are very selective who they shoot with and I have only seen this shooter post 2 or 3 times on this forum. I only know of this roll from a very good friend who was on the roll for the last 30 minutes and they only jumped in to block and keep someone from buying in.

Thanks
The reports we really like.
I would like to hear more about the great roll, but i also understand the reasons for keeping it very very low key.

Why wouldn’t this roll be posted? You just have to verify it and send it to Frank. So why wouldn’t the total of the roll be posted? I don’t get the implcation of the title of the post?

One has to observe the roll in order to have it listed by Frank. Clark only heard about it from a friend, and therefore, cannot verify it himself. Clark also did not say how many rolls there were, and may not know.

Good points Goddess. So this roll could be a complete and utter exaggeration as it made the rounds from whoever witnessed it to Clark. But I just caught a whif of sarcasm in the headline. Maybe I am wrong here.

You are definately wrong cube man. I have rolled with these people at more than one gambling destination. I have confirmed that they are all GTC trained. The person who told me this routinely calls me about the weekend when I am not there.

These shooters bet large from the get go. I have seen them drop as muck as $7000 in 15 minutes time. I have witnessed many 30 plus rolls.
They tip shooters generously when you make repeaters. They try to only play in casinos that offer better than 2 -3-4 times odds. I was genunily supprised that this happened on a $10 table. Usually they only play $25 tables.

I only posted this because of the enormous amounts of money won. I would never have posted this if I thought it was a fabrication.

One of the people routinely makes over $100,000 profit each year. This of course was an annomally. The usual weekend goes somethin like this lose several thousand win several thousand. Usually not more than a $25000 swing. At $100,000 per year that is just under $10,000 per month profit.

These people don’t care about records. I know that several of them don’t even have subscriptions to this site anymore. They simply just want to win money. I don’t know if all of them make profits for the year. I would think that they do because of their GTC training. They only 5 count people whom they do not know or people whose tosses are not deemed to be as good as theirs. For the most part they 5 count me. I am not real comfortable playing on a $25 table. My usual bet is a doey don’t with a 12 on the come out so my only loss there is $1. Then I take a 6 or an 8 not both. Once I get 2 hits I start pressing at $6. Then I spread out to other numbers. Therefore I don’t make as much or lose as much. Remember these people play every weekend and many sessions. I can’t play with them that much and I can’t afford the violent swings in the bankroll.

I should also add that they don’t want "fleas" as they call them flocking to the table trying to make money on their rolls. That is why they don’t post their rolls nor is it very public where they are going to play.

Thanks for the clarification, Clark.
I guess it would be extremely uncool of you disclose info that these players are not volunteering themselves. I appreciate that you spoke only about what you do with your bankroll when playing with them and that no identifiers (physical traits and names) were mentioned. If the number of rolls is unknown or of little importance, then so be it.
It really is the winning that counts, after all.

If you had been in on the action, I would have loved to know whether the table was full or not (a full table with a good shooter invariably starts to pile up on hardways, even when they’re not hitting!!), whether you had used any come bets, whether any parlayed bets had been collected… you know, the usual fun details and things of the sort.
But hey, that was good enough so I’m not complaining and keep reports coming! 😀

You definitely can’t assume that the money is being made by people with the most ribbons on their chests. Yours is not the first story I’ve heard like that. After reading Skinny’s stuff about counting your rolls, etc., I’ve adopted the ‘give a hoot’ attitude about getting recognition for roll numbers and such. I keep forgetting I’m playing this game to make money, not to impress anyone. Wish I could have seen that roll though!
Hope to see you in Vegas 24th thru 27th sometime

Okay, here are the details,I was the shooter and this was a very special roll.
There were about 16 of us that got together in the deep south. There were some controlled shooters ,some friends of control shooters and some none believers.

Friday and Saturday was brutal and almost makes one give up craps.

Sunday morning around 8.25 am the dice came to me. I went $90 inside;took 30 odds on the $10 pass line bet and started shooting . Every time a number hit I collected and regressed to a $15 bet.Goal was to survive the rest of the trip.If number hit again I would do a one unit press.

At the 35 minute mark of the roll a friend of mine joined us at the table. At the 40 minute mark the pit boss asked me to hit the back wall. This shook me up so I brought my bets down and went $540 across.[ at this time I had $480 on the six] .At the one hour mark the table was surrounded by onlookers two deep. Throughout the casino there was a buzz that something special was going on.At the 1 hr 10 minute mark all the $1000 and $500 chips were in the player racks and more chips had to be brought in.At the 1 hr 20 minute mark I was getting tired and losing focus on my throwing spot and swing tempo .I finally seven ed out at the 1 hr 42 minute mark.

I rolled 75 plus numbers and hit the six 20 plus times. Never hit the 10.Made 12-15 passes and hit the fire bet for 5 numbers. No sevens were rolled on the come out and very few wasted rolls on craps numbers..Initial part of the roll had its share of hard ways;the latter part of the roll had very few hard ways however I did hop the hard ways twice on the come out and hit it.

The house lost $200,000 plus.

My friend, who has played every week for the last 30 years, for the first time reached table max on four numbers even though he joined the roll at the 35 minute mark and was still the beneficiary of 29 repeaters.[My guess is that this was a 50 plus repeater roll] . Two players reached table max on the number 6.

.

Regressing my bets initially and when the pit boss got to me hurt getting the max juice out of the roll but what the heck it was a lot of fun.

I used a hardway set, shot low because of table bounce, dropped the dice near the dont pass area and tried to keep the dice between the 9-13 firebet numbers.

Several players helped me reconstruct the roll.

Kumar THAT is the way yo post a trip report. Nice going.

Posted by: Dragboatracer on June 5, 2012, 11:08 am

I confirm the roll as I was at SL1, Kumar at SL2. It was a thing of beauty. The come better slowed it down but who knows if that was a bad thing as the roll continued. Kumar just backed off and sat at a BJ table. Kumar was cool as a cucumber. He played right thru the first chip refill which was not necessary, but may have already been scheduled-just $1s, 5s, 25s. Then they brought $20K in pumpkins and $10K in purple for each side of the table. That lasted about 5-6 rolls. It takes a lot of chip rail when you get 30 or 40 black chips on each roll. The come bettor did work his come bets on the come out once he got ahead I only remember one comeout crap number of 3 and no 7s during the roll. I recall one 11 that looked to be a hard 10 that flipped back over. The come bettor counted 29 repeaters for himself. There was no accurate roll number as we focused on counting chips and being prepared for the next bet depending upon the number hit. I think 10 pts minimum.

Epic roll and well done, Kumar!

It sounds like you did a really great job dealing with the pit, those slowing play and other distractions.

Congrats to all the winners at the table as well…

It is an asset having a savvy, calming player like DragBoatRacer at the tables with you. He is always a pleasure to be around.

This is the dream of every craps player. To be on giant rolls like this. The second best thing is to read about it and fantasize!

Kumar –

Great job.
It’s definitely ok if your strategy wasn’t absolutely perfect from the start. Pigs get fat; hogs get slaughtered. Have you weighed yourself?

BTW, the trip report is well done.

Thanks!

Alamo,
That’s exactly what I tell myself when the "Coulda–Shoulda–Woulda" starts to invade my mind after a roll, or if I make the agonizing realization that I could have made so much more had I just done this or that… Nothing warrants putting a damper on something as wonderful as a good hand w/ the dice 😉 😎 😀

Fantastic job Kumar! When we took the advanced class together, I knew this day would come for you.
You have been working many years on this journey and it payed off big for everyone at the table.

Great roll Kumar. From your post over the years I always considered you and advanced savvy player. I know if it wasn’t for heavy losses for 2 days that regression play would have been out the window but the roll was still a blessing. Congrats to all the fellas who had the balls to press to table max because a wise man once told me that is goal.

Great roll Kumar!!!!

Posted by: Guest on June 8, 2012, 6:52 pm

Earlier in this post the originating author referred to high roller controlled shooting teams that hammered the casinos in the deep south for thousands of dollars periodically.
It sounds very romantic and robinhood like but not very true.
99% of the people I play with are nickel and dime players. For example two players who reached the table max on the number six during this long roll started with a $30 bet on the six.
Some of us are better shooters than others but we dont have a significant edge. For example Saturday night I was voted as one of the three worst shooters in the casino and I am glad I dont depend on craps to make a living .A long roll like what I had needs a lot of luck.
Yes we periodically get together and have a lot of fun and play within our means.
I dont want to underscore the hugh win we had with this monster roll.Such wins help relieve the pain when we get our share of beatings.

Kumar, now THAT was well said. I hope everyone will read your reply a second time. That is real world, but a HOMERUN is totally WONDERFUL. Congrats…I’m jealous.

Kumar,

We still remember you so vividly from class. On the first day I got to say you sucked 😀 … then you came on the second day and your throw was like night and day! I remember you saying that on Saturday night, you went back to your hotel room and just threw on your bed. And we all know what happened on the Sunday … you WON our NO Seven’s Contest, (that is what we called the Box Number Contest back then).

This couldn’t happen to a nicer person!

Outstanding Kumar!! And what a class act you are to tell it like it is, even though it was buttered up for you.

Most of us are still waiting for that MONSTER to happen, but are happy to see the consistent teens, 20s and 30s with occasional 40s rolls…and a 50 shows up once in a while. Heck, if I only threw 16 rolls and have them be just 6 or 8 and hit table max, I’d be ecstatic!! 😀

I admire your integrity and certainly envy the roll, luck or not…a MONSTER is a MONSTER and you have to have a certain amount of skill, opportunity, timing, and luck to converge upon you….and you did.

Man!!! ….just outstanding!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Again, kudos and congrats!!

Thanks Dom,those classes were fun and set a nice foundation. The one on one refresher was specially valuable.

Many thanks to all the well wishers.

As a parting thought I will share one comment with you.
After the roll the casino manager came to me and told me;nice roll I now have to share the bad news with my bosses;that is when the size of the roll sunk in.

The length of the roll reported is accurate given I was constantly looking at my watch since I had a flight to catch.
The number of rolls reported was reconstructed based on the progression cycles some of the other players use plus one player always keeps up with repeaters since he tips shooters based on that data.In reporting the number of rolls I took a very conservative approach.I know I did not throw a seven on the comeout roll because my friend had all his bets working and everytime he screamed I want my bets working I would cring.Talk about pressure on a shooter.
I did get tipped $2000 from that individual.

Throught the roll I was in a zone. The landing area was clear thanks to our polite low key blockers. There were no late bets or buyins because I would not shoot till the table was ready.I had the dice so I controlled the pace.

Everytime I made a point I would step back away from the cheering and go sit at a empty blackjack table. Most of the times as numbers hit I did not verify the payout;we started dealing in such big numbers that after a while small mistakes by dealers would not have mattered.

I played every bad bet under the sun;luckily I was on the firebet. If that was was not enough I started hopping the hardways on the comeout when I was way ahead and hit it a few times. My view is when things are going good play eveything.I hardly rolled crap numbers;reason I know that is because I was waiting to roll one so I could play a $100 each on the hi/lo and never got a chance.

Clarrification-I do play the firebet on controlled shooters and sometimes play the hardways if they are hitting;I avoid the hop bets/craps bets etc.

Posted by: Guest on June 12, 2012, 1:28 pm

Over time Kumar those bad bets can’t possibly be helping you. Or have you shown through the soft ware program that you have great axis throwing ability?

Posted by: Guest on June 12, 2012, 9:08 pm

Let me answer your questions in two parts
-There is no long term situation here to be hurt by bad bets;this roll is a once in a lifetime roll and in that moment in time the goal is to fill ones trays as quick as possible;whether this filling of trays comes from hardway bets or craps bets etc is upto the individual;one has already defied odds by not seeing a seven.Maximizing the money won can take care of a lot of rough trips to the casino.

-In the long term yes bad bets will hurt so one has to look at the shooter, see how pure the throw is etc before deciding to play the firebet or hardways;I avoid hopbets and craps bets.Last year on a 55 number roll after the 25th number the shooter’s throw was so pure that he only threw hardways;one has to recognize this and capitalize on it which I did.I was way ahead at that point so a nickel on each hardway did not hurt. With gradual pressing I got the hardways to 175 each.

sounds like a fantastic roll. and sounds like you made some money
which is great. That would have been a great roll to watch.
