Some players refer to themselves as "five-dollar" players (or "only a five dollar player") when in fact there is probably no such thing as a five dollar GTC player at craps. If you are the typical GTC dice controller and you make two or three bets when you roll, then your $5 Pass Line with odds and your one or two Come bets with odds will make you a far higher player.
For example at a five-dollar minimum table with 3X-4X-5X odds a $5 GTC dice controller could actually be betting between $40 and $85 when his bets are on the numbers. At a 5X odds table the total bet could be between $60 and $100. That is a far cry from being a five-dollar player.
Even if you use one Come bet with odds when you are shooting; or place the 6 and/or 8, you are going over the $5 level.
I think most of our "five-dollar" players are not aware that they are decidedly not at the five-dollar level. I know of no GTC dice controllers who only bet a single $5 bet on themselves and do not take odds when doing so.
In point of fact, I do not count bets on random rollers. They should be the table minimum and only one bet so it is possible that we could have the $5 player in such a case — if said player does not take the odds.
I think our thinking falls into traps (often laid by the casinos) to make us think we are not betting at high levels. You five-dollar players are not in fact five-dollar players.

Or you can just say, "I’m a low roller," and that conveys it all. It is vague enough but still gets the point across.

I may have gotten to green chip a few times .But not enough to say that I am a green chip player. But if you can say that a player that buys in for 200.00 and plays for 6 -10 hrs . and still goes home with his bye in is a low roller then that is what I should say I am. O I do play to long but not vary often.Trying to change that.Have changed my betting since I read your books 5 yrs ago.It just takes time to change BAD habits. 😀
Good Rolling.
