These are some serious guys. I hope they do some serious damage.

I was dealing craps at a fundraiser few weeks ago when i used the line " do you know the difference between someone that prays in church and someone praying at a craps table? The guy at the craps table means it" I got really mean stare and the comment "that was completely inappropriate, you should be ashamed of yourself"

I was a shamed, because I did not have a good comeback except that I was sorry and did not mean anything by it, and that it was a joke.

Yikes!! 😈

"Desi"

These situations should be handled very delicately and with proper reverence for the other parties opinion.
Next time you might want to try this comeback,I find it works very well,…..
" Frack you, don’t you tell me what I can and can not say. How about I take you outside and kick your politically correct ass down the block, you pompous self-righteous asshole"

It is subtle but quite effective.

Tell him what is inappropriate is his belittling comment that is nothing more than an attempt to make you feel ashamed. It was a simple joke that does not deserve such a harsh and cruel response. Especially if this individual is trying to pass himself off as a good Christian. Christ did not ridicule others or try to deliberately hurt their feelings. He is the one who should be ashamed for his lack of humor and critical attitude.

Sometimes the simple unvarnished truth is the best way to deal with an obnoxious bully.

Or you could just tell him what Scan suggested 🙂

I think I like Scan’s "subtle" approach to things, besides, I think that’s what the venerable JC would do.
