When I saw the picture of McSorley’s Ale House I was going to post how it did not look like it had changed much since 1942. Then I scrolled down to the next one which is a current picture and the caption saying exactly that 😆
I thought the three homeless people were better dressed than most of the people walking around NYC today 😮 😮 😥

Great photos.
I have been in many of those lower east side tenements they were built in late 1800s and early 1900. The funny thing about that area is the people that lived there in the old days worked their butt off to escape the area. Their dream was to live in the new suburbs. Now, the grandchildren and great grandchildren of those same people have moved from the suburbs into those now hip tenements.
