Will Red Box Kill Netflix

Spread the love

I was a strong supporter of Netflix, maybe even an apostle, but after they split the services and a choice had to be made between online only and DVD only, I no longer like the service at all.

I choose the direct online only version for $7.99 per month and have been very unhappy. There are no new movies that come online in any timely manner. I do enjoy the vast library of older and foreign films, but occasionally I need to watch a new one.

Two nights I go I rented The Help from Red Box that is located in front of a nearby 7-11 store. It was only $1.50 per night. No hassle at all and there are hundreds of new titles available.

As high as Netflix stock price has gone and the valuation of the company is at an all time high, I think these are institutional buyers who want to hold a stock that is hot. But the rumble on the street form users is that a lot of people are cancelling their subscriptions.

I also went to the streaming only but it sucks for movies they have limited selection and they are standard rather than high definition. Plus the sound sucks.
. I find it is great for past season television though

We have a dedicated home theater with a 120 inch screen with 7.1 surround sound; so you know i am a big movie guy. The theater also has Apple TV which streams the recent stuff. However u pay per movie or show.
I recommend the Apple TV
