As the world turns or the journey continues

Spread the love

Having spent a couple of months away from home practice, I thought that my shot had gotten a bit better. Between Denver and the bluffs I had 2 nice winning plays in a row. (a first)

Get home and dust off the home practice set up and start throwing to see how things looked.

BOMBSHELL of a toss. From seeing that I could throw the dice with no space between them, to what I saw at home was a bit of a shock. In one space of 36 throws 7 sevens, and not getting any better.

SO, what the heck is going on. An email to Timmer and some comments back from him and Dom, puts me back in investigative mode.

I looks like as had happened before some very subtle things had changed.

Went back to Bman target practicing bowl, first pair in, the next 5 pair anything but in. And on, and on.

Finally, (I think) I found I was turning my right shoulder into the table, my shoulders were slouching, and during my swing my head was moving.

With that, things seems to be returning to normal, though my throw is taking too much thought at this time. Not beaten back into muscle memory.

At least I know I can do it, now to be able to reproduce it.

Had a show to go to, so did a quick visit to local. After 1.5 hours waiting for SL1 to open (will not do that again), 3 turns with dice, all three times made first point, and then shortly later the seven.

The journey proceeds sometimes not always forward.

Your shooting looked on my table. Glad that you had to you the rest room. That ship did a number on that bridge.

Good ROLLING. 😀
