Happy Birthday To Us!

Spread the love

Today is my 70th, and Skinny’s birthdays. Happy Birthday AC Boardwalk teammate!

We were supposed to celebrate in AC, but Sandtrap went into hospital on Thursday, so it hasn’t been much of a special celebration for me.

Please keep him in your prayers.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

A huge thank you for all the prayers for Sandtrap!!

Got home at 1:30pm EST. We are both exhausted (me, from 3hours sleep). He is short of breath, very weak and unbalanced. He used a quad cane (thanks Gregory for bringing it down from the attic) to get up the stairs, and is using a walker (they gave us a new one) to get around. He is very cold, wrapped up under an electric blanket, with a scarf around his head and two heated things against his body. He can’t be left alone, can’t get out of bed by himself, and can’t get to the bathroom alone. Right now he is sound asleep.

The doctor said it will be awhile before the chemo is completely worn off and the fatigue begins to dissipate. They say it varies from person to person and can takes weeks or months.

The visiting nurse will be here tomorrow for an evaluation, and to order physical therapy. Since he has literally been in bed for a month, his muscles have wasted away. He shakes when he stands.

See you all in March (only 2 months away).
