Make your money on the 10+ to 20+ rolls by Skinny

When writing to Showtime and telling him to focus on the moderate rolls for making his money I decided to describe my recent sessions in AC. We often think you need a monster roll to make money at the tables. But that is not the case. It is the moderate rolls that occur more frequently. We need to have discipline at the tables, a good betting method that compliments our game and a plan for how long to stay in order to make a profit. I hope my description of my recent experience can be helpful to some of you.

After the class we recently held in AC I played a total of 7 craps sessions. The longest session was a little over 1 hour and the shortest was 15 minutes. I think I played around 6 hours in total over the 7 sessions. I shot the dice roughly 3 – 5 times each session and only once in the short session. I follow the advice we give in class concerning the length of time to stay at the table and number of times you want to shoot the dice per session.

My longest roll was 27, I think I had two of them. I just looked at The Goddess’ post about our trip and I copied the rolls she had for me on 5 of my sessions. Following is what she recorded for me in those 5 sessions:

Friday, with four turns shooting, Skinny had one 20 roll…

With three turns at the dice, the best rolls were Skinny’s one 27 roll…

Skinny had one good 25 roll.

Skinny shot an 18 and a 27, followed by two short rolls.

Later, Skinny had one 23 roll…

You will notice I had no extremely long rolls in those sessions. You will also notice I did not take a lot of turns with the dice at any single session. If you read her report you will also see the other shooters did not have any huge rolls while I was at the tables. Several people had big 40+ rolls but I was not at the tables with them when they had those rolls.

In addition to those 5 sessions, I had that one 15 minute session I mentioned above. I shot the dice once in that session for a 13 roll with 9 sixes. Frank and Stickman shot once and then we called it quits for the session. We were feeling a bit tired and still full from lunch. We had a profit and there was no reason to continue playing if we were not at our peak fitness level.

I made money in 6 sessions and lost in only 1 out of the 7 sessions I played. But I did not have any extremely long rolls nor was I at the tables with someone else who did. My money making rolls for those 7 sessions were 13, 18, 20, 23, 25, 27 and 27. That is not a lot of long rolls. But with discipline and a good game plan it was enough to turn a profit.

The five count on other controlled shooters, not betting on any cfers and quitting after limiting my time and number of throws at the tables were major factors in my making a modest profit at the tables. I had a consistent throw while shooting with at least one moderate money making roll each session. But it is because I know my game and bet accordingly that I was able to make a profit with only a handful of moderate rolls.

These are the keys to playing a solid advantage play game.

I don’t think 9 sixes in 13 rolls is normal at all. Maybe Skinny can give the odds of that happening . I woner if it was a 6/1 for the 7 out on that roll ?
