It was my primer class and yes, I was one of those people that didn’t listen, I went to play craps at lunchtime. Trashman and I went over to HRC and proceeded to do very well. I’m not advocating to do this, but I also had a lot of time in throwing before the 2007 class….like almost nine years. Trashman had a ton of time throwing as well, we both read all the books and so on. The class was just the next logical step. Again, don’t do this if you’re a potential primer student. We both threw tosses well into the 30s rolls each and made enough money to cover the cost of the primer and refresher classes. After we were done, there was a guy who came up to me and told me he was a journalist and wanted to interview me. He was very blatent.
"I’d love to talk to you about that throw. I’m not getting it because you did very well, but your shot sucks."
"Really?? You have a strange way of getting someone to talk to you."
"No really, you’re not very good but you’re doing something right. I’d like to hang out with you and play with you guys, here’s my card." He handed me his PRESS card. He was a reporter, but I didn’t know what kind, not to mention this was stuff we’d just "officially" learned and was still in the first part of the weekend learning it. We basically told him we’re not interested, cashed out, and went back to our class as lunchtime was almost over.
He followed us as far as the parking lot. I really think he should have worked on his delivery.
