I’m wondering whether Loucifer is posting as a spoiler.
I like the issues he has raised, and every day it seems he
brings up another. They should spawn a lively debate.
Even if he were planted on this forum, it’s for the good
so dormant beliefs will be resurrected among us.
Hopefully we will be comparing apples to apples as near
as possible, with some clarity for us to understand and
follow the arguments.
Are there assumed QUALIFIERS in givens in arguments?
Are we talking about controlled shooters performances
or a mixed crowd of players (which may equate to ‘random’)?
Are we DEFINING the terms we use, or assume we all have
the same picture?
Doesn’t VARIANCE matter in expectations and projections?

I assure you that I am not spoiler! Lol I just happen to have a lot of free time on my hands due to the holidays. I will disappear into the wood work again soon enough.
I have sent a lot of time over the years going over this game. This has lead me on an interesting journey and I always question everything! I am also a critical thinker an am not afraid to develop my own ideas on things. Whether they are correct or not, as you see, is up for debate.
I spent some years away from this site due to, let’s just call it "life changes". When I went to GTC school placing the 6&8 was the play of the day.
Now, there seems to be a paradigm shift to come bets. I am trying to understand why a bet whose house edge hugely depends on a seven on the come out roll is being recommended to a controlled shooter who is doing everything in their power to avoid a seven during to point cycle.
Lastly, yes variance is an enormous factor, please keep digging deeper into it!
Sincerely,
Lou

Please don’t disappear into the woodwork, I implore you.
You do bring up issues and ideas, good (or bad?),
that are relevant to some of us some of the times,
that stimulate replies to your posts.
For example, the issue of "variance" (which needs more discussion),
and your postulate that the average hand at the craps table
is 13 throws (where did you get this number?).
I myself peruse the posts on this forum to pick up morsels that may
be of use to me in improving my practice at home, and also to prompt
and tease others to post their ideas. The more controversial the better.
