After spending the night in Stamford, CT, It occurred to me that it has been over a month since I did a live session. I held off on doing a live session, because I was upset at a business decision my brother made which I found out about after returning from my wonderful and relaxing trip to Mexico on Labor Day weekend. I will go into more detail in a thread called “Side Money" http://www.goldentouchcasino.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10962. That morning I felt mentally prepared to do a live session so I headed out to one of my favorite casinos where I am familiar with the table’s reaction (taught in the advance class).
I arrived at 5pm I was able to get SL2 right away and by the 2nd hand I slid over to SL1. I brought in for twice the amount needed for the session and every 15 min I pigeon-held a green until I reached 50% of my buy-in (Advance class detail). I did this as a practice routine in anticipation of future gains and better comp ratings.
On the second hand, I started to feel a little heat. The stick-man warned me that If I don’t bet on the shooter before me he will skip me. The current shooter was on SR2 and SR1 was a don’t player, so right away I asked the SR1 if he planned to shoot the dice and he said “No”. So I put a come bet with-out doing a five count so I would not get skipped. The stick-man heat stopped when he saw I putting the dealers on the line.
On the 4th a well dress guy in a black suit was stood on the long end of the table watching my throw, not sure if he was a pit-boss, but it was a little distracting being that no players were at the end of the table and had a nice landing zone. I try to focus on my shot and not on who is who in the pit, but the guys disappeared and it seemed that a woman was the pit, so I am sure what his role was. I think it was a form of heat.
The 5th hand they changed the dice to a new sleeve right before it was my turn.
The game ran very slow mainly because most of the dealers were new to the craps game. They would get confused on simple payouts. With all that was happening, I forgot to reload a full odds bet on my 8 and I had bases loaded, so it really hurt when I hit that 8 to find that the odds bet was missing. An experienced dealer would of reminded me to put odds especially if I am tipping the pass-line. Btw this mistake cost me because I SO on the next throw after loading the 8.
Most of the hands were good rolls one or two hands I had to navigate around chips on my landing zone, reaction was great, some of the rolls would stop dead at the foot of the alligator with a hard-way showing. I would get excited when I see that happen. I don’t count rolls because I am using money management counters which are far more important to me, because it tells me when to exit or when I am even or ahead without counting all the chips in the rail.
Although not my best at this table, in the end I was still able cashed out at a rate of $20.33 per hour for a 7 hr period. Practiced my Pigeon-holding strategy and got some live-Play and tested my tolerance of playing with small amounts of heat, in-experienced dealers and lastly was able to block the family issue that was bothering me. Never forget, we have a small edge over the casino and there are so many factors that impact our edge and it is important to play only in optimal conditions. I signed up for the Video-Elite in AC and looking forward to seeing my GTC extended family members execute the craft at the tables.
PS: Refreshers, when you feel your ready talk to Dom, NFF and BTK about taking advance class and add the Video-Elite you will learn so much and its just like a great movie talking it over again you feel like you learned something new and your game will improve to a whole different level. Your throw is like your car, you want to bring it to the experts for preventive maintenance and not when you have a serious problem that would cost you lots of money in losses.
Yours Truly,
MR. PiP
