Question about dice sets

Spread the love

I know that the HW set is the best 7 avoidance set. I have seen Mr. Dom’s video; I have read the book; and I have read Mr. Dom’s responses. I also have read to use the recommended smart craps sets when you have gained enough axis and pitch control. My question is this: when do you know your good enough to use the recommended smart craps sets instead of the HW set?

Couple questions first have you run thousands of simulations too smart craps. Question number two do you use the same set each time such as fives on top fours facing exactly the same each time

I’ve recorded about 16,000 rolls for smart craps. I put the 4s or 3s on top – whichever is easiest based on what the stick returns to me.

Iโ€™m not 100% sure but if youโ€™re not putting the exact same set up there each time it is physically impossible to determine your consistency with the outcomes because a different set with the same shot will produce a different outcome do you have to use the same set exactly each time if I understand this properly

I don’t think it should matter for the Pro 1, 2 & 3 tests. Those tests measure on axis, hardways and double pitches. It does not matter which of the 8 possible hardway sets one uses to measure those metrics. You may use different hardway sets and the results will still be valid for those 3 tests.

I am not sure if it matters for the other things you get from SmartCraps.

Smart craps has no way to know what set you are using. So Skinny is Right .
Good Rolling. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚

Skinny is right.

Question – did you record those 16K rolls in Smart Craps? Did Smart Craps come up with a different set for you to use?

Thank you all for responding. To answer Mr. Dom’s questions: Approx. 14,000 rolls were entered in 2 groups. 10,408 rolls from last year. 3547 rolls from this year. All the rolls were with the hard way set and the rolls were continuously aggregated as per smart craps documentation. Yes, smart craps did suggest optimal sets. No simulations were run – the smart craps optimal sets are from the Pro test wizard. In answering these questions, I may have answered my own original question. Perhaps I should run smart craps simulations with my Pro test scores with the hard way set and compare the player advantage with the smart craps optimal sets. If there is a substantial advantage with the optimal sets over the hard way set, then go with the optimal sets. Does this sound right? Of course, ‘substantial advantage’ would have to be determined.

I went ahead and looked at comparing the Smart Craps optimal sets to the HW set. However, I used the Smart Craps dice set optimizer instead of doing a simulation. The results are as follows: for pass line with 2x odds – optimal sets gave a 3.8% player edge (after I disabled the confidence degrader) as opposed to the all roll HW set which yielded 1.7% edge, a decrease of 2.1%! I also looked at using the all 7s set for come out with the HW set and the edge improved to 2.4%, a 0.7% increase in player edge over the all roll HW set but still 1.4% less than the Smart Craps optimal set results. I am somewhat surprised by these results, but unless I’m missing something here, I plan to use the Smart Craps optimal sets. Does this sound correct?

Yes – Use the optimal set

Please email me off site at dom@goldentouchcraps.com and give me the set
