Rose and Doc certainly do miss our old friend—Mr. Finesse. Learned so much from him. He certainly had a lot of influence in our journey to be coming the advantage player we are today. Rest in peace great friend.

Missing Bob, what a wonderful person, friend and mentor. He is really missed and here’s hoping he’s either doing the Eagle Eye thing with the man upstairs or has found a great 9/6 game with Bill somewhere….

I wonder how many times he asked "How much do you practice your grip?" during Tune-up? And how many times did he get an answer of "none"?

This string has been going on for six days now. I first knew it was Bob’s b-day from a Facebook tickler. Then Dom posted soon after. Every time I read a post that has to do with Grip I go back to the first Tune up I had in front of Mr. F. Grip, grip, grip, grip was all I heard for the better part of the first hour. Even though he could only find a slight separation on my dice it was grip this and grip that. I carry a pair every day because he made such an impression on me about that damn grip.

The last time I saw him was the LV class in 16. After watching my throw for several minutes he just said, "I have nothing to say, just keep doing what your doing". That was probably the best compliment I could have ever gotten. The thought of that moment still warms my heart and I’m saddened that I won’t have the opportunity to visit the grip with him again.

I would step up to his table and tease that he was the only man other that my father that scared me shitless. But thinking back on it I wasn’t teasing. The last thing I wanted to do was disappoint either one of them.

I didn’t know him that long or that well but I miss him greatly. I’m sure that when he arrived at those gilded gates he was welcomed with opened arms and a favorable table.

I was fortunate enough to hang out with Bob, Doc, and rose the last 4 or five gtc trips to Vegas.
I really enjoyed the stories and lessons he taught us.
Every time I visit Vegas I make sure to drop a c note on his favorite video poker machine. . I can see why he liked it, it payed. Oh yes I fire up one of those stinky cigars in his honor.

All these great memories that all of you are bringing up warms my heart.

Greenskeeper – That pencil rendering that your Granddaughter made for me is hanging on my wall as of yesterday. I love it!
