New Bet in Vegas

Spread the love

I was in LV this week, staying and playing at the big place with the statues. I saw for the first time a new bet on the Craps table. It is: "Over / Under 7." Minimum is $10.00, and it only pays even money. If the number on th dice is over 7, and you bet the "Over" you win, if the number on the dice is under 7, and you bet the "Under" you win. That works out to 15 ways to win, and 21 ways to lose, and only get even money. I think this is actually worse than the field bet which has 16 ways to win and 20 ways to lose. This bet is on layout where the Big 6 and Big 8 would have been. Also as per previous posts, the Small, All, Tall is paying 31 / 151 / 31. Other places in "The Empire" are still paying 35 / 175 / 35.

With 15 ways to win and 21 ways to lose a bet that pays even money, the House Advantage is 16.67%.

The field bet has a HA of 5.56% or 2.78% depending on if the 2 & 12 both pay 2-1 or if one of them pays 3-1.

Chevy, you are correct as Skinny pointed out—a really bad bet. Have seen it in some other places and simply don’t play that wager. Glad you brought it up so that others on the board could see what a bad wager it is.
