I realize that this post could upset some members of this board and I do not intend that. I just have a simple question. Why do some GTC trained students not follow the GTC recommendations for proper betting?
Even without passing the Smart Craps tests of axis control we have players who go for the hardways, the other "crazy crapper" bets, even the Fire Bet with its over 20% house edge. Why do this?
Sure if you passed the three Smart Craps tests and follow the information in Frank’s "Cutting Edge Craps" you can maybe (maybe!!!) be able to do the radical betting styles but I just don’t read here reports that those who are making bad bets are truly elite players who have passed the Smart Craps tests.
So why do it? Isn’t that really just gambling?
I know the argument is that I or another dice controller has hit a certain number but GTC stresses you have to ask yourself the question IS THIS SHOOTER ABLE TO OVERCOME THE HOUSE EDGE FROM THIS POINT FORWARD? I think the answer in almost all cases is no.
So why waste your money making these bets? It seems that we practice to get an edge and then give away part or maybe all of that edge because of the bets we make.
Or am I missing something?

Really it should be none of my concern how or why you bet as you do as long as I’m comfortable with my betting style and follow it. And for the record I’ve been using the Big Skinny and love it. I don’t believe that method is strictly by the book either.

I just listened and said nothing till they left.
I feel there is no true one way to win. GTC tells or teaches the best bets to make period. Can you make money with these bets ? I tried lots of bets. Itried betting the 8 and only the 8 .i DID WIN THAT BET AFTER 4 ROLLERS AND 40 ROLLS OF THE DICE. So I stopped betting that single bet.
I am now a 3 bet guy with 2 place bets and one come bet when I roll. I then decide to go different ways after seeing how the dice are.
Everybody has a different way of throwing so they bet different as well.
I am trying to relax more and enjoy the game more.Getting to old to worry about some other guys money.
Good Rolling.

Plus winning lots off the hardways and hop bets attracts attention.
Now who doesn’t like attention?
