Craps

New to the GTC Boards

Spread the love

Hello Everyone-

I just signed up for the Craps Club and have been an advocate for being an advantage player for years now. Always enjoy reading all the Craps books that I can find. I’ve started reading many of the posts on here and it sounds like a bunch of great folks. I’m glad to be apart of the boards. I love playing Craps daily on my table and have a GTC Seninar on my buck list to do.

Thanks-JoeP

Welcome aboard, what part of the country do you live in and where do you go to casinos? Maybe some one would meet you at the tables.

Thank you to everyone with the nice comments.

I live in Amarillo, TX. I frequent Albuquerque every few months or so to play at the Indian casinos.

I have a 12-foot Craps table at home that I practice on for several hours a day, so that helps tide me over.
Still working on some issues with my throw as of late.

JoeP,

Welcome to the GTC family. You will not find a better group of people willing to play with you and help you in your journey to becoming the advantage player we know you will become.

Alligator Rose and Doc can’t wait to meet you. We are in Central Texas so if your travels ever bring you to our area please do let us know. You can send a private message off the message to any individual, should you have a question. Don’t hesitate to ask a question on the message board or research any craps subject you might have.

We too hit the Casinos in or near Albuquerque from time to time, although it has been a long time since we have been there. It is on our bucket list to hit those Indian Casinos in the spring or summer, time permitting.

Hope you can get a GTC class off of your bucket list in 2017. We do have 6 classes–2 in Vegas, 2 in Atlantic City, 1 in Memphis and 1 in Shreveport. Hopefully one of these will fit your schedule this year.

Again welcome to the GTC family.

Welcome .I read old posts to get great ideas from this site . It may take some time but worth it .You may find a lot of questions that you have in them .
Good luck on this JOURNEY .
Good Rolling . 😀 😀

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Let me know the next time you hit the ABQ casinos.
I try to practice at least 1 hour a day right now. Having issues with one of my dies turning a quarter left or right and not being right on the axis. For example, I’ll have the hardways set up with 10 on top and I’ll roll a 5-1 a lot. With the one die rotating off axis. I do have a belief that over practicing can get into a players mind sometimes. However, I do love practicing. Thanks again for all the welcomes and greetings.

How long is your table? I built my own with help from this site .You may see it if you go threw old posts .
Enjoy this Journey .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

JoeP, if your truly going to pursue the challenge of Dice Control the best advice, and I’m sure most on this board will agree, is Stop practicing right now, sign up for the next Primer class and start the journey. While you may have and read all the books, while you may be doing most things correct all you’re really doing at this point is ingraining bad habits that the instructors will have to fight against. No book can really fully explain the nuances of the throw. And none of us, including the instructors or Dom for that matter can make corrections to your approach without personally seeing you at a table of practice station.

Just my $.02. and welcome to the board

Have you seen what your throw looks like when you use 2 glued dice ?
Good Rolling.

JoeP – where did you buy the felt with the firebet on it? I have a 12′ table and keep toying with the idea of changing the felt – not sure where to buy quality felt – the internet searches seem to be pulling up cheap stuff

I bought from a company that custom built the table for me. They are out of the Phoenix area. I think they are called American Table Games.

Thank you Finisher. If you look in the middle, they customized it and put my last name by the crown, "Price." I thought that was so awesome.

I thought that may have been the casino that they got it from . I have in past bought felt from casinos that had them replaced . They were black jack felts .This was from a store in Vegas .
My table is out side so it does get more wear then yours will .It is starting to show some age . The SUN is hard on it .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

I’m headed to ABQ for this weekend, April 7-9, to do some craps throwing. If anybody is out this way, let me know. Good throwing!

JoeP and Finisher,
American table games will no longer put the fire but on the layout. The person making the felts for them came up against the copyright on certain bats and will no longer add them . However, I saw felts with Fire in Vegas I believe it was gamblers General

Thanks for the information on that HardNine. They did me good with my table.

I had a lot of issues with the bounce at the tables in ABQ. So much of a bounce compared to my table at my house. Stuggled hard with it. Any thoughts?
