Is anyone still around here? Posting is almost non existent.
I don’t get to the casino much since I moved from near Tunica to Los Angeles.
Still like to read of other people results.
Do any of you shoot from the don’t now and what approach do you use if you do?

If the 7 came up he would get his place bet money back from the win on the DC bet .
Some would say this is a good way to get into a long roll with out using your own money .
To be real slow you would only add odds to pass line bet from wins .
It did not make him a lot nor did he loose a lot . But there were no real long rolls .
I think he did press each time also .Which get you up fast on a long roll .If his DC bet rolld for a loss he would make another .
I have not tried the D side .
Hope to roll with you again .
We are going to visit daughter for 2 months this year .So not much casino time .
Hope all is well .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

The reason that I (we) shot from the don’t was that we were playing out of town on a busy Saturday night and the only tables that had any room to shoot were the tables that had higher minimums than what we wanted to play. We chose to play the higher minimum making DP bets with odds (lays) and no other bets so that our spread was actually less that it would have been had we played PL with place or come bets.
The time that I did this that really sticks out in my mind was in AC and I have referred to it as the Boardwalk freezeout. Two of us started play at an empty table with our plan being as stated above, 1 DP bet with odds. We were in a decent sized group and many of the group had never considered shooting from the don’t and didn’t want to play so they simply watched. Right from the start we were successful and after banking a number of wins some of the other people joined in until we had almost a full table where every player was playing DP. The dealers thought that it was the funniest thing they had ever seen with a full table on the don’t. As I recall we recorded over 25 seven outs out of about 30 hands. Money in the bank.
The reason that I (we) don’t do this very often is that when you win you lose the dice and when you lose you must keep the dice. Losing the dice after a win is the downfall of this method especially if there are other players at the table and you have to wait for the dice to come back around however if you are alone at a table it works great because you seven out and then start a new hand.
What I will do when shooting from the don’t is try to establish a point of 5 or 9. By establishing a 5 or 9 you can then use an all sevens set with the 4/3’s on the axis and if you can keep the dice on axis you can never throw a 5 or 9 with out a 3 or 4. The key of course is keeping the dice on axis. I have seen some attempt to establish the 4 or 10 thinking that they are more difficult to make anyhow. This isn’t a bad plan except that the lays behind your DP only pay 1 for 2 on the 4/10 so you risk more for a smaller return. Over the course of time it doesn’t really make a difference since you will end up establishing many different numbers and it will even out.
The big key when you are shooting from the don’t is establishing points and not throwing 7/11’s on the come out rolls since this is where the casino gets paid from you on the DP. If you can avoid the 7 on the come outs then you are in the drivers seat.

I might have to incorporate some Don’t play into my practice. On an empty table it might not be such a bad idea. Plus it might keep other players away since I would "appear" to be losing.

We have done that. One day Billy, Dom and I wanted to play and found a table with only 2 players. Unfortunately, they were at SL. So we take SR and when the dice came around I would set the 2V trying to get a 4 or 10. I am not sure what Dom and Billy used for their comeout set. And then set for seven. Those players were betting big placing every number so we knew that a couple of quick 7 outs would take them out. It worked to perfection. They left and Dom and I moved to SL with Billy at SR.

If they had $10 tables, I’d be strictly a DON’T player there and mix in DC’s too. And, I’d bet that way when I shoot because I’ve PSO’d there more than any other casino that I’ve played at in the US

The house edge on the don’t is negative 1.36%. The house edge on the do is negative 1.41%.
In a random game both do and don’t players will lose to the casino. Casino’s count on the math in a random game holding up over time. If the game favored one way or the other the house would be vulnerable.
The only way to get the odds in your favor is to develop a controlled throw and make the best bets with a low house edge.

Which make their own hours and if a wedding is going on they are closed for the day .This is a lay back place .Bathing suits are not required except in restaurants .It also rains a lot .Some of the towns are like rivers when this happens .Train and cabs are the best to take unless some one gets hit by one .I have gotten on 2 wrong trains so far .I am getting a little better at it tho .
Are you two going to the great gift wrap up this year .I think we may have a few points that we may use .It sure is harder getting them now .Hope to see you there .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀
