Craps

Reasons You Should Go On a Cruise

Spread the love

If you love craps, you should consider a cruise ship-the longer the better.

Make sure you have taken a few tune ups from Mr. Finesse AND the Advanced Class from BTK NFF before you get on board.

The knowledge you have gained will come in play as you attempt to master the only table on the ship.

Advantage for GTC :

Time is on your side.

Low limits.

Friendly dealers.

CFrs do not stay very long after they 7 out.

Same table for days not hours.

Easy to get prime SL1 & 2 or SR1 & 2 positions.

Hints:
First few days be the first one at the table.
You may be alone for a while so try your A- shot and adjust, evaluate your results.
Adjust lower, less spin, change landing zones until it looks good.
Think about what your GTC instructors would have said to fix a bad throw..
Ask yourself- what are the dice doing?
(I take a condensed version of my class notes to refer to before and after play.

It only costs you $5 to try a few different fixes.
Once you get the results you want—time to increase the bets.

It took me 2 sessions to get the shot right.

A nice 45 minute roll on day 2 .

Day 4, one hour and 5 minutes!!!

Lots of action all week with some profits every day I played.

It is a really great feeling when this happens AND you are rolling repeat numbers – more chips have to be ordered , the table is running out!

Players will skip their turn to get the dice back to you faster.

Warning about cruise crap dealers-some are not the best at bet placement and payouts. Watch your chips!

Tip the GTC way, it goes a long way and is very appreciated by staff.

Any questions about conditions etc for ships have to be PM .

ColorUp,

I very much agree! I love playing on the ships, and doing things the GTC way re: tipping, goes a LONG way. The dealers are the same, they get to know you, and they treat you noticeably different than others. My last had a group from a casino in San Juan, and although one couple was a little obnoxious, they were generally nice people, but kept to themselves, no significant tipping, and although I saw them at the table often, the crew never called them by name. To me, they’d call out from 30 feet away when I approached and were excitedly calling out when I came up to bat. We even had fun with a newbie dealer… 2 weeks out of school… and I was patient and encouraging to him, but yes, watched my bets closely!

I can’t wait for my next cruise! Though it’s over a year off, it’s a trans-Atlantic and I’ll have 8 days at sea on top of the 7 additional nights (once we’ve sailed) on port days to play!

You can play when in port?

Finisher, Clarified: on port days, play once we’ve sailed. Although, when we were in port overnight in St. Petersburg, Russia, I think the casino did open. I’ll have to check because we’ll have an overnight in Reykjavik on that cruise.

Rarely can you play in port, They have to be beyond the 12 or 20 mile limit before they can open the casino. I agree the dealers are great on the cruise ships.

Note be careful if the sea is rough and time yous toss.

I thought there was some kind of rule that they have .

Posted by: Dr Crapology on June 10, 2016, 12:03 pm

The last time I was on a cruise ship the experience was terrible. For starters they only allowed 1 times odds–a real bummer. They wouldn’t even let you "double dip" with a come bet with odds and placing the same number. Water was kinda rough which did not help the execution of your throw.

Hope things have improved since then.

The line I cruise on is 1x, but I can double dip with no issue. It’s actually kind of nice because I just have my desired place / buy bets out there and work those regardless of what the point is I’m working on. My 1x is there, but so are my lineup of Place/buy.

The line I go on is 2x.

They allow come and place bets.

Doc They have stabilizers on most ships now . 😀 😀
My first ship did not have them but it has been retired for a few years now .
I like the food but not the weight GAIN . 😀 😀
Also shows are great every night with bingo some days .
Some really get hooked like taking 10 to 20 a year . When you get into it they Email real great deals .One time meet 4 people at dinner that was just coming off a 2 week one and this one was for 4 days and they were going on another 7 day when we got into port .They said that they had been on about 28 all together .That was when I found out that you can order a bottle of wine that they will keep for you to drink at every meal .They took turns buying it though out the cruises .
Also meeting people from all walks of life is great .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Stabilizers or not, I was on one last November, Craps table was on the external wall, about 15 feet from the side rail of the ship (walking path between casino and the edge of the ship) and I could see the rise and fall of the ship as I lined up… made for a fun session, even with stabilizers!

HardNine,
If you can throw in those conditions you should be able to throw anywhere!
Are you sure it wasn’t the numerous Mai Tai’s you had been guzzling down?
Gosh can those cruise ship put on a good table. The food is fabulous!!!

Also if you are a single male the number of single women who go on cruises is much greater than single men, and they know about the hear after.

You no it goes like this the man looks the woman in the eyes and says if you are not here after what I am hear after you will be here after I am long gone.

Just returned from a cruise around the British Isles. Played some craps and was up at the end of the cruise. We were busy every day as we were in 9 pots on the cruise , only 2 days at sea.

If you go on a cruise read the first comment from Colorup. Yes this cruise only had 2x odds (I have never seen higher on a cruise). No problem setting the dice as most regular players set in some fashion. I played with 3 other players with the same first name. That has never happened anywhere.

Now some tips on cruising.
I do not go on a cruise to play craps (but will if time permits)
I like cruises for — Ports of call, shows, food, etc.
Also check out Tripadvisor re pre and post hotels and esp for shore excursions. Hop on hop off buses are great to see a new city .
If you are flying into Heathrow and need to get to Southampton check out the National Express bus , if time permits, about 1/3 the price of the cruise line bus. Oh upgrade to the fex pass if you flight may be late. (We were on time)
Also If you are a shareholder of the major line (RCI, CCL, NCL) you can get an onboard credit. Min 100 shares. 7 day cruise will get you $100 credit.

Never thought about the shareholder thing .May look into that .
Love the food and shows .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Finisher

Yes it helps with any onboard expenses including the tips. Google the cruise line re Shareholder Reward and see the shareholder reward. Some lines give $250 for 14 plus cruises., some only $200 . but anything helps.

My dentist put me on to this a few years ago.

Have taken a cruise once a year for last 10-12 yrs. and discovered between 0600 to 0730 hrs. is a great time for practice on the table in the casino. Never had anyone say anything to me other than a casino manager who mentioned seeing me on the closed circuit tape that rolls 24-7 all over the ship, he said he had no problem with using the table. When he would see me in the casino in the evening we just had small talk. So if you decide to try this when you pull up to a table at 0700 hrs., first look up at the camera and wave with a smile.
