Taking the plunge

Spread the love

I’ve signed up for the primer June primer class in Las Vegas.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for it? While talking with Dom on the phone, he gave me is two preferred betting system. I’ll start there and, of course, keep practicing.

When I took the class they only used the 3 finger grip so IF you use a different grip I would hold off no practice and just practice grip with the gripper . It took 1 1/2 days to adjust and still had a hard time .
So started throwing better on Sun.
Just a thought some may add more .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

So glad you are taking the class. My only advice is don’t practice too much. Often people who have never had any kind of professional instruction have habits that they don’t realize are bad. So there is no point practicing those bad habits. If you know the proper mechanisms of the grip, work on that. You can you tube a couple of videos Dom and Frank made about that and concentrate strictly on the grip. Let us teach you the rest in the class. I look forward to meeting you and having a chance to work with you. It is an incredibly intense weekend so prepare yourself.

One of the things you need to learn is how to set the dice quickly. This is a skill you can master before taking the class. You should be able to set the dice in 1 second. Here is a link to a post I wrote that will help you gain the ability to do that.

Thanks for the tips.

I’m using the gripper, the dice are a little snug and don’t come out easily.

I’m trying the three finger grip. I’m used to the one finger grip.

Set the dice is a breeze, I’ve been practicing that.

Thanks for the tips

RFink13 I had one other problem that was not noticed by most instructors till the second day .That was one nail was longer then all the others so when I griped them they were off .
It is those little things that they can see that I would never have guessed or saw .
There will be a lot to take in so take notes better then I did . Mine were so bad that one instructor said he would write them for me . 🙂 🙂
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

My advice would be work on your GRIP, this is where it all starts. If your grip isn’t correct you can not throw thevdice properly.

Secondly work on setting the dicecquickly I prefer to have the hard 6 on top with the hard 10 looking at you where your thumb will go. Also have the 6’s on the left.

I will explain why to set the dice this way when we are uh n class.

Most missed the boat on advice to prepare here.

Get the video on the GTC site and watch it repeatedly.

http://www.gamblersoutpost.com/?pn=Beat … p=676&c=27

Anyone who does not have this video is missing a very important teaching and review tool.

I had gone funky with my throw and made a decent sized donation in Biloxi last month. Rose reminded me of something. Came home, watched the video three or four times, practiced that a bit and have been on a pretty consistent upswing ever since.

Even my original throwing before I could arrange a class was, read Casino Craps, go to the site, buy the video, watch it a few times and practice. Watch it some more times and practice. Had a few decent sized wins and arranged a class. Without the class the large wins were not there but without the video, which I watch at least once a week — but had not in Dec and Jan, I would not be as consistent as I am.

Mr. Finesse, Are you right handed? The reason I ask, is I’m left handed and so some reason I’ve had better luck with the hard six on the top and the sixes to the right. Other than that, I used the hard way set until I started double pitching like crazy.

I now use the 62;32 set.with much better results. I’m really looking forward to the class to work on the on-axis percentage and double pitching.

I had had a large win followed by some pretty consistent wins. Then, in London last year I started doing something funky and had been double pitching. I showed for the Memphis class open house Friday last year. Before doing his personal sessions Finesse took a quick look at my throw and gave me some advice.

After a large dinner I managed a 10K roll betting $25 with 5x odds.

Sign up for a Friday personal with Finesse as well as the usual seminar. You will not be sorry — unless you don’t just follow the advice without thinking or thinking you know better.

I’m working on my grip and have given up on the gripper. I have to yank the dice out. I figured out that two stacks of three chips on both sides of the dice make a great sub for the gripper.

if you just change the set to fix the throw you will be changing the set every month, so just relax until June stop engraining bad habits that you will have to change.

If all you had to do is change the set anyone and everyone would be so good at this tha the casinos would not allow it, if the throw is not fixed all you are doing is teaching yourself to do bad.

Do you have a smart phone with video capability video yourself and compare it to the video jes is talking about at least then you can see what you are doing that is going so wrong.

I got the gripper to work. (A little sandpaper works wonders.) I’m back at it and looking forward to the class. 🙂

When I tell you to get the video it is no small thing.

Last night at Rivers this guy rolled for an hour twenty. Receiving the throw and spoke with him later. Got the video from gtc and working on getting to the next live but cooking along already.

Obvious from looking there are things to fix and he kept throwing long – hit the back – but got lucky on the roll outs.

What a great start. Get the video.

RFink. The tips from the instructors are right on IMO. I would repeat come well rested and take good notes. As mentioned above you will have a mentor assigned who will take some notes they will give you at the end. Also checkout the GTC wisdom section there are many concepts discussed that will also be covered in class read "The Big Skinny". Try to make it to the Open House on Friday. It will give you an opportunity to meet the instructors and many of your fellow students. Enjoy the journey sir!

Butcher I had not been to the wisdom section in a long time. So I clicked on it and read one of Skinnys post . I was about whether you influnce the dice . Well I enter some of my rolls into smart craps but never pass .
But after reading this post I feel a lot better about my throws .
In 5294 rolls it came out that I do have a little influence going .
The 4 and 10 rolled 842 .
The 5 and 9 rolled 1215 .
The 6 and 8 rolled 1500 .
When have more time will have to go back threw the wisdom section some more .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂
